Euro 2024 Predictions, Odds & Betting Tips

The European Championship 2024 will be hosted by Germany and is due to kick-off on the 14th of June 2024. The qualification process for Euro 2024 begins in March 2023 but the market for the outright winner of the tournament is already up and running and you can get some fantastic odds if you back a winner at such an early stage. There are obviously many different bookies that you can go through to bet on this competition but two of them in particular offer great deals through the bet365 bonus code as well as the William Hill sign up promo code.

Euro 2024 Qualifying Predictions

Here are a selection of tips for the up-and-coming Euro 2024 qualifiers,

Wales vs Armenia: BTTS – No @ 8/11 (1.73)

We kick off our European Qualifiers tips with Wales vs Armenia and we're backing at least one team to fluff their lines in front of goal. Wales have seen three of their last four matches end with a ‘nil' in the final scoreline whilst Armenia have seen someone fail to score in half of their last 10 matches. That form, together with the previous head to head game ending goalless, and the odds on offer make us think this is a good value wager.

Denmark vs Northern Ireland: Over 2.5 goals @ 8/11 (1.73)

Next up we turn our attention to Denmark vs Northern Ireland and the total goals market. We are betting on the game action to go over 2.5 goals. Denmark have seen three of their last four matches go over the 2.5 cut off with their game average coming in at 3.3 goals per game. Northern Ireland meanwhile have seen three of their last five matches go north of the 2.5 marker. They've averaged 2.6 goals per match. Last time the nations met the game ended 2-1 and thus passed the 2.5 threshold.

Kosovo vs Romania: Romania to win @ 9/5 (2.80)

Last but not least we bring you a match result prediction that sees us backing Romania to beat Kosovo. Kosovo have not lost any of their last five games but, notably, they are winless in four having drawn all of those. Romania though know how to churn out wins against opposition of Kosovo's standard; they have won four of their last five matches – including each of their last three. With that considered, a price of 9/5 (2.80) is generous.

Euro 2024 Qualifying

There are 10 qualifying groups for Euro 2024 and they are titled Group A-Group J. The top two teams from each group qualify automatically for Euro 2024 and the remaining competitors will be decided via the play-offs. Here are the ten qualifying groups,

Extra Qualifying Information

Germany automatically qualified for Euro 2024 as they are the host nation but the holders of the European Champion trophy, Italy, still have to qualify for the tournament. Russia have been banned from the qualification process due to political reasons, while a certain set of teams have been guaranteed a spot in the play-offs no matter where they finish in the group stage due to their performance in the Nations League.

Netherlands, Croatia, Spain, Italy, Israel, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Scotland, Georgia, Greece, Turkey and Kazakhstan have all been assured of a spot in the play-off due to their Nations League ranking but can still qualify automatically should they finish in one of the top two positions in their respective group.

Euro 2024 Qualifying Predictions

Here are our group predictions for the Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Group A

Spain are the clear favourite to top this group with Norway, Scotland and Georgia looking set to battle it out for the runners-up spot and Cyrpus are expected to finish bottom. Erling Haaland might be out injured for the first round of fixtures but Norway will be relying on him to score the goals that will take them to Germany in 2024. Scotland look solid under Steve Clarke and we expect them to challenge Norway for second place but you can't rule out Georgia just yet as they have some impressive individuals in their side, including Napoli's Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Predicted Standings

  • Spain
  • Norway
  • Scotland
  • Georgia
  • Cyprus

Group B

France and the Netherlands will surely qualify from Group B together, as the pair go up against Ireland, Greece and Gibraltar. The latter are expected to be the group's whipping boys and if the likes of Ireland and Greece are to challenge for one of the two automatic qualifying spots, then they will need to be Gibraltar home and away as well as finding a way to take points off the top big boys. France are going to be the favourite to win the group after they made it through to the final of the World Cup in Qatar but they go up against the Netherlands in the first round of matches.

Predicted Standings

  • France
  • Netherlands
  • Ireland
  • Greece
  • Gibraltar

Group C

This group should see England and Italy take the top two places but as we have seen in recent tournaments, you never know what Italy side is going to turn up and both North Macedonia and Ukraine will fancy their chances of causing an upset. Malta are the fifth and final team in the group and there isn't much expectation on this little nation to pick up even a single point in Group C. England are the favourite to clinch the top spot in this group and this could be Southgate's last chance to win a major tournament in what has been a tenure of near misses.

Predicted Standings

  • England
  • Italy
  • Ukraine
  • North Macedonia
  • Malta

Group D

Croatia are the biggest team in Group D and the pressure will be on Zlatko Dalić's men to claim the top spot. The likes of Turkey and Wales will be hopeful of qualifying from this group which also has Armenia and Latvia in it. Not much is expected from the latter two sides with Latvia expected to finish in last place but both Turkey and Wales have been that impressive in recent international matches and the Welsh are without their talisman Gareth Bale who has finally hung up his international boots at the age of 33 and will soon retire from football altogether.

Predicted Standings

  • Croatia
  • Turkey
  • Wales
  • Armenia
  • Latvia

Group E

Group E is one of the easiest groups on paper with Poland backed to claim the top spot ahead of the Czech Republic. Albania, Moldova and the Faroe Islands make up the rest of the group and while the Albanians have some decent players to call upon, you can see why Poland are the big favourites to win the group and why the Czech Republic are expected to claim the other automatic qualification place. It's a toss-up between Moldova and the Faroe Islands to see who will earn the wooden spoon and finish in last place.

Predicted Standings

  • Poland
  • Czech Republic
  • Albania
  • Faroe Islands
  • Moldova

Group F

Belgium face a potentially tricky qualification from Group F as Austria have proven themselves to be a very capable opponent and you can never rule out Sweden from qualifying. Azerbaijan and Estonia make up the last two places in the group and the pair will be expected to battle it out to see who will end up finishing bottom of the pile. Belgium, who are now under the guidance of Domenico Tedesco, have seen Eden Hazard and Toby Alderweireld retire following the World Cup but still have a strong core to their sides from Courtois in goal, De Bruyne in midfield and Lukaku up-front.

Predicted Standings

  • Belgium
  • Austria
  • Sweden
  • Azerbaijan
  • Estonia

Group G

Hungary and Serbia stand a very good chance of making it to Germany in 2024 as they have been drawn against Bulgaria, Lithuania and Montenegro in Group G. Serbia didn't show us their true potential in Qatar but certainly have a squad strong enough to win this group. Hungary have a good group of players and although they have failed to qualify for recent World Cups, they have made it to the last two European Championships. Montenegro and Bulgaria will both be hoping to challenge for the second spot in the group and it will be interesting to witness the atmosphere when Montenegro face their neighbours Serbia home and away.

Predicted Standings

  • Hungary
  • Serbia
  • Montenegro
  • Bulgaria
  • Lithuania

Group H

Group H has six teams in it but only one stands out as the clear favourites to finish in the top spot, and that is Denmark. The Danes face San Marino, Finland, Kazakhstan, Slovenia and Northern Ireland in what should be a relatively straightforward progression to the 2024 Euros. The real battle in this group looks set to be for the runners-up spot and you would imagine that Northern Ireland, Slovenia and Finland will all believe they have what it takes to finish behind Denmark.

Predicted Standings

  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • Slovenia
  • Northern Ireland
  • Kazakhstan
  • San Marino

Group I

Switzerland will be happy with their draw for the Euro 2024 qualifiers as they go up against Romania, Kosovo, Israel, Belarus and Andorra in Group I. The Swiss are the big favourite to take the top spot and you would imagine that it would be between Israel and Romania for second place. Belarus and Kosovo will be hoping to avoid finishing in last place but we're not sure they have enough about them to challenge for the qualifying spots.

Predicted Standings

  • Switzerland
  • Romania
  • Israel
  • Kosovo
  • Belarus
  • Andorra

Group J

The last of the groups includes an aging Cristiano Ronaldo and his Portugal side which will be expected to dominate their competitors. Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovakia, Luxembourg, Iceland and Liechtenstein make up the rest of the group, so Ronaldo will be rubbing his hands with glee at the thought of adding more goals to his international record. Of the other contenders for qualification, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Slovakia are in with a good chance of finishing as runners-up as Iceland are the team they were a few years ago and nothing is expected of Luxembourg or Liechtenstein.

Predicted Standings

  • Portugal
  • Slovakia
  • Bosnia-Herzegovina
  • Iceland
  • Luxembourg
  • Liechtenstein

Euro 2024 Outright Predictions & Odds

Despite the qualification process still being underway, there are a couple of outright markets available for Euro 2024 already.

Euro 2024 Winner

France and Germany are the current favourites to win Euro 2024 with odds of 6/1. France are probably the best team in Europe right now, World Cup finalists and in possession the best player in the continent in Kylian Mbappe, while Germany have already qualified for the competition as the host nation but aren't the force they once were in international football.

England are the next favourite at 7/1 following their impressive displays at the last World Cup and European Championships but if Gareth Southgate wants to go down in history as a successful England manager then this could be his last chance to win a major trophy.

The current fourth favourite to win Euro 2024 is Spain at 8/1. Again, another nation that have shown signs of having a team that can win a major tournament but their inconsistent form has seen them knocked out of the last Euros and the World Cup prematurely.

Previous European Championship Winners

Here is a list of the recent winners of the European Championships,

  • Italy – 2020
  • Portugal – 2016
  • Spain – 2012
  • Spain – 2008
  • Greece – 2004
  • France – 2000

Euro 2024: Markets & Odds

euro 2024

Outright Winner

The most popular market for Euro 2024 from now until the tournament begins is the outright ‘to win' market. There you pick the winner of the championship. Note that you will have to place the bet before the event starts that's when you will get the best odds. As each contestant is disqualified, your odds will get lower.

Top 4 to Finish

Reaching the semi-finals of this prestigious tournament is an excellent achievement. You need to wager on if a team would reach that stage. The odds provided are similar to the outright winner odds, but since there are four places to fill, you have a bigger chance of guessing.

To Qualify Past Group Stage

The European Championship begins with a group stage. You have to wager if a team will qualify past the group stage or not. Popular teams and recent winners are favored in this category such as, England, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium and Portugal.

Top Goalscorer

The goalscorer markets are famous in all football competitions, and that will be the case for Euros 2024 too. This market can be difficult to predict with so much time left before the event starts, but as we get closer to the end of the qualifying process we have more of an idea of which teams will make the trip to Germany and the players that have been scoring the most goals during the qualifiers.

Euro 2024: Special Markets

If you want to do something different, you can try betting on some of the unique markets related to the event. There are many different possible markets, and the most popular ones are the following.

Player of the Tournament

One of the most anticipated betting markets and prizes in Euro 2024 will be the ‘Player of the Tournament award. In the recent World Cup, we saw Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe go head-to-head for the Player of the Tournament award, and while Messi's team won't feature in Germany, Mbappe's surely will and he is going to be the favourite to claim the award in 2024.

Most yellow/red cards

This market is for betting on which players you think will be shown a yellow or a red card during the match. Often, there are players usually in defence or midfield that pick up yellow cards for a late tackle or for persistent fouling and you should check their disciplinary record before placing any bets. The other instant where yellow and red cards might be more common is in a game between two rivals such as England vs Germany, Germany vs Netherlands or Greece vs Turkey.

Which Group Will Produce the Most Goals?

At first, the teams are put into groups that play against each other. This type of bet refers to which of the groups would score the most goals, and it's settled at the end of the group stage. Coral was one of the bookies that offered this market during the last European Championship, and we expect that many would follow next year as well.

What are the most popular betting markets?

Match Result

The most common market for wagering on, in any event, is the match result. If you place a bet on this type of market, you choose between three outcomes:

  • Home Win
  • Draw
  • Away Win

If the teams are unevenly matched, the odds may not be favorable in this market, but if you decide to include this bet in an Acca, then your potential profits can go up.

Total Goals

The total goals market is also referred to as the over/under market. There can be several markets in this category, such as Over/Under 2.5, which means that you wager on the fact that the total goals scored in this match by both teams would be at least three (over 2.5 goals) or fewer than three (under 2.5 goals).

Correct Score

This is another famous market for football events where you predict the final score of the match. This outcome is tough to predict but often offers the best odds, so there is risk to the reward.

Other Popular Markets

Since there are hundreds of markets available for football matches, we can't list all of them, but we will mention some other markets you could bet on during the Euro 2021.

  • Double Chance
  • Anytime Goalscorer
  • Winning Margin
  • Both teams to Score
  • Half/Full time
  • Draw No Bet
  • Handicap
