Top Teams that Have a Chance to Win 2021 Bundesliga
Below, you can read all about which teams we think would be on the top next year and have the best chances of winning the 2021 Bundesliga.
Bayern Munich: Great favourite
Our top choice for next year's Bundesliga winner is the one and only Bayern Munich. They have dominated the tournament in the last decade, securing eight consecutive titles, nine finals, and finishing in the top three for the previous thirteen seasons. During that time, they scored six doubles and one treble in the 2012/2013 season, winning the Bundesliga, Champions League, and the DFB-Pokal.
Robert Lewandowski has been the top goalscorer of the team during five Bundesligas, and he even played for Borussia Dortmund during the time they snatched two consecutive Bundesliga titles. During the 2019/2020 Bundesliga, he was the top goalscéorer with thirty-four goals, and another one of their layers – Serge Gnabry scored twelve goals during the season and ranked in tenth place in the top goalscorers of the 2019/2020 Bundesliga chart.
Bayern Munich has the highest chances of winning the 2021 Bundesliga, and while surprises may happen, all bookies would favor them again, especially after seeing their performance in the 2020 Champions League. The team is one of the best in the world, and they are not only dominating the German Football scene but also set their sights higher and try to climb the European ladder of best clubs. As of March 2020, they were ranked in the top four of UEFA's club coefficient ranking.
Borussia Dortmund: Main challenger
Borussia Dortmund is the second-best option we could come up with for 2021 Bundesliga winner. Their history with the League isn't as good as Bayern Munich's, but since it was created, they won the Bundesliga five times, got to the finals twelve times, and finished in the top three eighteen times. Their most recent league win is the two consecutive titles during the 2010-2012 seasons. When it comes to titles, they can boast with eight German football championships, one of each the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, and the International Cup. They even have four DFB-Pokal titles. Their player Jadon Sancho scored seventeen goals in the last 2019/2020 Bundesliga and ranked at third place in the top goalscorers of the season chart and another one of their players – Erling Haaland – ranked sixth in the 2019/2020 season. The team has some great players, and they can boost their squad with the summer transfers in hopes of starting the 2020/2021 Bundesliga with a better squad. Besides Bayern Munich, they have the highest chances of winning the 2021 Bundesliga, of all seventeen other teams in the League.
RB Leipzig: A classic Underdog
RB Leipzig is a newly founded team in which history began in 2009. The team quickly climbed the ranks of German Football by securing a Bundesliga final within eight years of their inception. Since then, they secured two third places in the League during the last two seasons. One of their best players is Timo Werner. He scored twenty-eight goals in the previous Bundesliga and finished in second place in the top goalscorers chart, only outshined by the legendary Robert Lewandowski. While the team has many critics, they are steadily climbing, and we expect great things from them. With a streak of two third places in the last two seasons of the League with a little work, they might end up at next year's final or even take the title with a bit of luck. That is if they manage to win against the Bundesliga favorites Bayern Munich.
Underdog Predictions for the 2021 Bundesliga
Bayer Leverkusen is a reasonably popular team in Europe, and in their history, in the Bundesliga, the club has produced five titles. Their most recent one was in the 2010/2011 season. One of their most notable players in past years is Kai Havertz, who scored twelve goals during the 2019/2020 Bundesliga and finished in the top ten goalscorers of the League during that season. He even won the “Player of the Month” award in May 2020. The team hasn't got high chances of winning the 2021 Bundesliga according to bookies, especially with the rumors that Havertz will leave during the summer transfers, but we still thought we should mention them as underdogs.
Other Notable Mentions
We don't think that many other teams have chances of winning, especially with the history of the League but we still think we should mention some clubs, so you can keep an eye on them and see if they perform well next year, and if they have chances of at least finishing in the top three.
· Borussia Mönchengladbach
· Schalke 04
· VfL Wolfsburg
What is Bundesliga?
Bundesliga is one of the elite football association competitions in the world. It takes place in Germany and is made up of eighteen Football clubs. The League itself operates on relegation and promotion-based system, like other unique Football association leagues around the world. The teams who get relegated go to the “2. Bundesliga,” while teams promoted from it go to the highest Bundesliga. The League runs from August to May, and most games are played on weekends, but some are on weekdays as well.
The 2021 Bundesliga will be a little different, and it will run from 18th 2020 to September to 22nd May 2021. This change is because of delays related to the previous season.
Our Final Tip
The past seasons of the Bundesliga have taught us to not look past one or two teams as winners, but even if they don't have high chances of winning some underdog teams have good squads, and if they push themselves to better their game, they could end up on top of the table in May 2021. We aren't saying to put all of your eggs in the underdogs' basket and ignore Bayern Munich's history with the Bundesliga, but anything could happen in football, so keep your perspective broad. We are sure that nothing would please Bayern Munich's fans more than securing a ninth consecutive title, and we'd love to see that.
