Cristiano Ronaldo's future is highly uncertain as he finds himself in conflict with the Saudi Pro League. Could another return to Manchester United be on the cards?

In recent days, following Karim Benzema's arrival at Al-Hilal, tensions have emerged between Cristiano Ronaldo and the Public Investment Fund (PIF). The Portuguese superstar reportedly has an icy relationship with the organisation that runs the Saudi Pro League.

Cristiano Ronaldo considering Al-Nassr exit

The 41-year-old has just missed two consecutive matches with Al-Nassr in protest against Karim Benzema's arrival at Al-Hilal. The two clubs are battling for the title and the five-time Ballon d'Or winner feels aggrieved by this arrival, which significantly strengthens a direct rival.

As a result, rumours of a Cristiano Ronaldo return to Europe have recently begun to circulate. The former Real Madrid star has a release clause of £42m (€49.5m), but could also be transferred for a lower fee in the next window given his contract with Al-Nassr expires in June 2027.

Sporting return possible, but not Manchester United?

In this matter, Sacha Tavolieri reports that CR7 has warned the PIF and the Saudi Pro League of “his desire to leave the kingdom if he does not receive more sporting guarantees.” A departure therefore seems more on the table than ever, with a return to Sporting Portugal appearing feasible.

However, a third spell at Manchester United does not appear to be an option. Indeed, according to the Belgian journalist, another return to the Red Devils is not on the agenda at all and the Manchester club “have no interest in bringing back Cristiano Ronaldo.” This rumour has therefore already been buried.
