Appointed last month as Manchester United‘s interim manager, Michael Carrick is attracting interest from three English clubs ahead of the 2026-27 season should he leave the Red Devils.
Installed on the Manchester United bench following the sacking of Ruben Amorim, Michael Carrick has so far achieved a perfect record with 4 wins in 4 Premier League matches against Manchester City (2-0), Arsenal (3-2), Fulham (3-2) and Tottenham (2-0). Saturday's victory over Spurs, secured with goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes, has the Mancunians believing more than ever in Champions League qualification.
Appointed until the end of the 2025-26 season, Michael Carrick has managed to revive a team that was lifeless under the Portuguese, but there is no guarantee the 44-year-old Englishman will keep his job in a few months' time. The Red Devils will likely want to install a more prestigious manager on the bench, with a more enticing CV. Interested in Luis Enrique, Manchester United are attempting to derail the Spaniard's contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain.

Carrick from Manchester United to Crystal Palace?
Michael Carrick's excellent results have certainly not gone unnoticed by several suitors ready to make a move for him ahead of next season. According to Team Talk, 3 Premier League clubs are already emerging as potential destinations should he not be kept on at Manchester United. Three clubs with less glamorous pedigrees: Crystal Palace, Fulham and Bournemouth. The Eagles, for one, are working on the succession of their current manager Oliver Glasner, who has already announced his departure at the end of the season.
For their part, the Cottagers and the Cherries have no intention of parting ways with Marco Silva and Andoni Iraola, but the Portuguese – in post since 2021 at Craven Cottage – and the Spaniard both have contracts expiring in June 2026 and will certainly attract strong interest. Crystal Palace, Fulham and Bournemouth… three clubs closely monitoring Michael Carrick's situation at Manchester United who could make a move should the Englishman depart.
