Liverpool are said to be the frontrunners to sign Japan star Kaishu Sano this summer.

According to reports, the Reds are leading the race over arch-rivals Manchester United and Arsenal for his signature, with new boss Andoni Iraola keen to sign midfield reinforcements.

It’s also suggested that Liverpool will ‘prepare' a bid for the 25‑year‑old, who won’t come cheap given he remains under contract at Bundesliga side Mainz for another two years.

Sano is expected to command a fee of around £50 million, while the club are also considering alternatives such as Eduardo Camavinga, Adam Wharton and Khephren Thuram.

On the other side of the Mersey, Everton are also looking to strengthen David Moyes’ squad, with a current England international now emerging on their radar.

The Athletic now claim that Tottenham Hotspur defender Djed Spence is under consideration, as the Scotsman looks to bring in a new right‑back this summer.

Arsenal’s Ben White has long been linked with filling that role at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, while the Toffees also admire Strasbourg’s Guela Doue – though both options could prove expensive.

It remains unclear how much Spurs would demand for the £20 million Three Lions defender, or whether they would even be willing to sanction a sale at this stage.

Manchester United’s pursuit of multiple midfield additions continues to rumble on as pre‑season draws ever closer.

The Red Devils are yet to bring many new faces through the door this off‑season, and they’ve now been told what it will take to land Germany international Felix Nmecha.

According to reports in Germany, the Premier League side would need to stump up £100 million for the 25‑year‑old, with Borussia Dortmund viewing him as a key part of their project after he recently signed an extension through 2030.

Newcastle United have also entered the race for the box‑to‑box midfielder, making any potential deal feel some distance from completion.
