After a major summer transfer window, Manchester United do not intend to stop on such a good path and will be active again this winter. The budget allocated for the next transfer window has reportedly leaked.

This summer, Manchester United spent over £200m on the transfer market, mainly to rebuild their attacking line. Despite a poor start to the season, the Mancunian giants have turned things around with this seventh place in the Premier League. The Red Devils are moreover only two points behind Chelsea, third in the championship. The Champions League is still achievable for Ruben Amorim's side.

However, to achieve this objective, Manchester United will need to improve their squad, which lacks depth, particularly in midfield but also in attack. According to information from outlet Indykaila News, the board have set the winter transfer budget at £110. A fairly substantial cheque for this period which will allow the English club to strengthen.

Manchester United's winter dilemma

Manchester United will nevertheless have to make difficult choices. Because most of the options being considered by the Red Devils are very expensive, such as Carlos Baleba or Elliott Anderson, both valued at over £100m. Whilst recruiting a midfielder is a priority, with Benjamin Sesko's injury and the absences of Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo during AFCON, an attacking player could also be recruited.

Other options are therefore being studied by the English directors, such as Bournemouth's Alex Scott (£25m), a less expensive alternative in midfield, or striker Karl Etta Eyong (€20m/£17m) who is also being followed by Barcelona. One thing is certain: Manchester United will be on all fronts during the winter transfer window, with the ambition of recruiting at least two new players.
