Best UK football streaming apps: Where to watch the PL and other major competitions

The 2025/26 campaign has now well passed its midway point in Europe's big leagues, and with an exciting last few months of the season to come, we are here to provide a full list of the best UK football streaming apps that we think are the most fan-friendly.

In terms of Europe's five biggest leagues, the Premier League is set for a thrilling title race with both Arsenal and Manchester City locked together at the top of the tree. At the other end of the table, both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley appear to be doomed, while West Ham United, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United have work to do if they are to avoid the same fate.

In Spain, it will be a familiar title race between Real Madrid and Barcelona, while in Italy, Roma are in the hunt for their first Scudetto in 25 years but face stiff competition from Napoli and the two Milan clubs. PSG even face stiff competition in France from Lens, while Bayern Munich look set to win the Bundesliga title once again in some style.

Regardless of which league you want to watch in 2026, we have got you covered in this article in terms of where you can watch all of these crunch matches if you are based in the UK.

Free football streaming apps in the UK

All 4

All 4 advertises itself as the UK’s biggest free streaming site, and there is plenty of football coverage available for fans to sink their teeth into. As well as exclusive programmes from Channel 4, fans have also been able to watch coverage of England international games that have been broadcast on the channel, including 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and friendlies.

Pundits that fans have been able to enjoy include the likes of former Lioness and Euro 2021 winner Jill Scott and ex-England international Joe Cole, and while the streaming service is free, it relies solely on commercial activities, like advertising, to fund it.

Pros of streaming on All 4

  • Diversity in choice of pundits.

Cons of streaming on All 4

  • Less well-established as a sports broadcaster than BBC and ITV.

BBC iPlayer3

BBC iPlayer is one of a number of streaming sites for football games in the UK, as fans can currently watch any of the Euro 2024 games that they missed in regular broadcasting from any of the BBC channels.

As well as the familiar faces like Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer, there are also some new names taking a shot at punditry for the BBC, including former Tottenham manager Thomas Frank and former England international goalkeeper Joe Hart.

While BBC iPlayer is free to use, and also features no commercial advertising for UK-based viewers, you must have a valid TV licence to use it.

Pros of streaming on BBC iPlayer

  • Ability to rewind live games and watch from up to an hour before.

Cons of streaming on BBC iPlayer

  • No live coverage of popular domestic leagues.

ITVX

ITVX is another free football streaming website for users in the UK, although it only serves coverage from channel ITV1 for users in northern and central Scotland.

The site boasts some familiar names like Laura Woods and Ian Wright leading its football coverage.

Pros of streaming on ITV X

  • Easy to navigate.

Cons of streaming on ITV X

  • No rewind or fast-forwarding of live streams (as of July 2024).

UK football streaming apps with live Premier League coverage

Sky Sports

This channel needs absolutely no introduction to football fans in the UK. It has broadcast Premier League football live since the league's very inception back in 1992, spearheading the presence of English football outside the traditional Saturday 3pm slot and in a multitude of foreign countries.

Sky also has an offering of Bundesliga games and EFL Cup ties, including the competition's grand final in early spring. Pundits and commentators have varied depending on the teams involved, but Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher – both deadly rivals in their playing days – are regular fixtures in Sky Sports’ broadcasts.

Neville’s former teammate Roy Keane can also be seen offering insight and opinion, with his uncompromising attitude on the pitch translating well to media work off it.

Pros of streaming on Sky Sports

  • Accessible via NOW TV app.
  • PL games on Friday-Monday

Cons of streaming on Sky Sports

  • Comparatively high monthly fee may be off-putting for some viewers.

How much does Sky Sports cost?

At present, a monthly subscription is £34.99.

TNT Sports

Formerly BT Sport, TNT are the second biggest broadcaster of the Premier League after Sky Sports, and have exclusive rights to broadcast the UEFA Champions League in the UK.

Where TNT stands out though is their online live streaming, full of features that have made it one of the best streaming sites for football.

TNT shows at least one Premier League match every weekend, every game from UEFA’s club competitions, and matches from Serie A.

As well as being incredibly low-latency, TNT’s streams are broadcast in up to 4K resolution and Dolby Atmos, with interactive stat-based features and key moments to rewind to.

Pros of streaming on TNT Sports

  • Wide range of competitions.
  • Multiple channels each covering a selected UEFA game on both midweek nights.

Cons of streaming on TNT Sports

  • Like Sky Sports, TNT demands a relatively high monthly fee.

How much does TNT Sports cost?

The cost of a TNT Sports subscription via Discovery+ is £30.99 a month, but with a BT broadband package, it is just £20.99 a month. It can also be added to an existing Sky package for a slightly reduced price of £25.

Although their offerings vary from country to country, the London-based company holds broadcasting rights for the Premier League, LaLiga, the World Cup, Euro qualifying, Champions League, Ligue 1, the Bundesliga, and a host of other football competitions.

Despite being based in the UK, DAZN holds relatively few streaming rights to football competitions in the UK. But with a good VPN, wily supporters can circumvent geo-blocks and feast on arguably the biggest football banquet on the internet.

In typical Apple style, they have innovated in the field, with new features like allowing users to pull up as many streams as they like simultaneously.

Elsewhere, during the domestic season, Premier Sports offers subscribers LaLiga, the Scottish Cup and the Eredivisie.

Eoin McDevitt hosts coverage as the main presenter, and studio pundits include Richard Dunne, Kenny Cunningham, and David Moyes. The latter left West Ham United only in May 2024, marking the potential end of his 22-year on/off involvement in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Des Curran is the lead commentator, though the world-famous Clive Tyldesley has taken the mic on a few occasions. They are joined by Gary Breen and Brian Kerr, with the former memorable amongst fans of a certain generation for being a defensive stalwart with Coventry during the 1990s.
