Authenticity (3/5): Abraham wants Villa return
AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham, who is on loan at AC Milan, is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs. However, he is “very keen” to return to Aston Villa, where he spent the 2018-19 season on loan from Chelsea.
That is according to Football Insider, who have provided little information about their source.
Value (4/5): Free agent
The Englishman's contract is due to expire in the summer of 2025. As such, Villa would not have to spend any transfer fee to bring back their former fan favourite, who scored 26 goals in 40 games to help them earn a Premier League promotion.
Suitability (3.5/5): Well-rounded number nine
The 27-year-old is known for his all-around game, as he brilliantly combines his physique and mobility to exploit space and outplay centre-backs. He is enjoying a relatively promising campaign at San Siro, having scored eight goals and registered four assists in all competitions this term.
Upgrade? (3.5/5): New striker
Jhon Duran's departure has led to the Lions searching for a new striker. Marco Asensio has been signed to play through the middle but it remains unclear if his winter loan will be turned into a permanent deal. In that regard, Abraham could emerge as a viable option.
Logic (4.5/5): Keen to return
It is suggested that the Englishman has told friends he is “very keen” to return to Birmingham. As such, despite Everton's interest, it should be easy for Unai Emery to convince the player to join their project.
Whisper+ verdict: 18.5/25
With both Villa and Abraham keen on a reunion, this saga has the potential to go very far.
