As the winter transfer window approaches, Manchester United are studying several possibilities to strengthen their midfield. A new player has been added to the list of midfielders being followed and he is much cheaper than the others.

The major project for Manchester United during the winter transfer window will be the recruitment of a midfielder. The search phase has already been launched since this summer and several players are mentioned, notably Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton but also Elliott Anderson, three very talented midfielders but also particularly expensive. Whether it is the Brighton player, the Crystal Palace player or the Nottingham Forest one, the operation is valued at a minimum of around 100 m£.

The risk is therefore very high for such a large amount and Manchester United do not want to repeat past mistakes. Thus, according to information from journalist Graeme Bailey, the Red Devils could rather look at another profile, that of Alex Scott. The Bournemouth midfielder is playing his second season in the Premier League and he is valued at €25m (£21.5m) on Transfermarkt. He still has a contract with the Cherries until June 2028.

Manchester United: a €25m player to strengthen midfield?

Recently, Alex Scott was called up by Thomas Tuchel to the England national team, which clearly demonstrates that he has international level. It should be noted that the journalist from outlet Caught Offside assures that Tottenham are also following the former Bristol City player. This competition could drive up the bidding and work against Manchester United.

Aged 22, Alex Scott is a player with a versatile profile, capable of both attacking and defending. He is rarely at the conclusion of an action as he has only scored three goals since his arrival at Bournemouth. However, his runs allow him to add density to midfield and he would have no difficulty establishing himself in Ruben Amorim's 3-4-3 system.
