Authenticity (3/5): Another source fuels Pedro's exit rumours
The latest source to report on Liverpool's interest is Football Insider. They say that the Reds are closely monitoring the 23-year-old, who would be interested in a move away from Brighton to play for one of the biggest clubs in England.
We have already previously covered reports from Brazil, shining light on the Merseyside outfit's pursuit of Pedro. Back then, the question was whether or not Liverpool would land him in the summer of 2025. But with this story continuing to evolve, we're now looking at the possibility of a January move.
Value (3/5): Valuation likely to soar
With four goals and three assists in the Premier League this season so far, Pedro has piqued the interest of several clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester United.
Expect Brighton to capitalise on that and “demand at least double the £30million fee” they paid to sign him from Watford.
Suitability (4/5): Firmino regen
The versatile forward is capable of effectively linking up with his teammates with his technical prowess and astute movement, drawing comparisons with fellow countryman and former Liverpool star Roberto Firmino.
Firmino was absolutely sensational in Jurgen Klopp's 4-3-3 and it's tough to see why Pedro can't enjoy the same success in a similar setup, albeit under Arne Slot and not the German.
Upgrade? (3.5/5): More effective than Darwin Nunez
Capable of dominating the central zone by playing as an out-and-out striker as well as number 10, Pedro provides more solutions in the final third than Nunez, who has also struggled to show the killer instincts of an elite number nine.
Logic (3/5): Right step but the timing remains uncertain
Pedro is interested in joining Liverpool and has the ability to slot in under Slot. However, when he will be able to do that remains uncertain.
Initial reports indicated that the Reds want to sign him in the summer, but the way things are moving, a January move can't be ruled out, especially as adding such a talent may boost their chances of winning the league title.
Whisper+ verdict: 16.5/25
Pedro to Liverpool is now being widely reported as such there's no doubt that something is happening behind the scenes. Still, it is never easy to sign a top talent from the Seagulls, who often frustrate suitors by slapping ridiculous price tags on their prized assets. A potential January switch seems tricky!
