Manchester United transfer targets summer 2026: Will the Red Devils sign a left-back?

In this article, we will be taking a deeper look at all of the latest Manchester United transfer targets as the season get underway.

After a successful transfer window last summer, when the club brought in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens, the goal this summer is to make signings that can make them genuine title contenders in 2026/27.

So far, they have brought in Youri Tielemans, Carlos Baleba and Andrey Santos to boost their midfield options, and Karl Darlow to add depth to the goalkeeper department.

Lewis Hall (Newcastle)

Lewis Hall has emerged as Man Utd's number one transfer target for next summer as the club look to find a new long-term left-back. Newcastle are reportedly adamant that they won't sell a player, but a bid worth £65m or more would surely make them reconsider.

Alejandro Balde (Barcelona)

Alejandro Balde is a left-back option to keep an eye on in January, particularly if he struggles for game time at Barcelona.

Alex Scott (Bournemouth)

According to several reports in the UK media, Alex Scott is a player that Manchester United are very keen on bringing to Old Trafford this summer. The 22-year-old has the engine to complement Kobbie Mainoo and Youri Tielemans in the middle of the park.
