On a day when Liverpool signed Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain, the club also took a bold decision on the future of Cody Gakpo.

The versatile Dutch forward has been linked with a move to Manchester City, and there were indications that the Reds could offload him, provided they sign adequate replacement.

According to BBC Sport, Liverpool have turned down an £80m offer from Man City for Gakpo, with the club failing to strike deals for Yankuba Minteh and Ismaila Sarr.

The Reds are now expected to keep the 27-year-old midfielder, unless something major happens before Tuesday's deadline.

Manchester City are looking to end the transfer window on a high, and Enzo Maresca wants to add more players to the ranks.

Having missed out on Cody Gakpo, Man City moved quickly to reach an agreement with Everton attacker Iliman Ndiaye for a deal worth up to £65m.

According to reports, the two clubs reached an agreement on a deal worth a guaranteed £60m plus a further £5m in add-ons for the Senegal winger.

Man City are also in the frame to sign Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea, and two clubs are reportedly negotiating at the moment.

Arsenal are reportedly looking to make a late signing following the expected departures of Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus to Al Hilal and Barcelona respectively.

According to David Ornstein, the Gunners are considering a move for Lyon winger Malick Fofana.

The 21-year-old joined the Ligue 1 club from Gent in January 2024 and remains under a long-term contract until the summer of 2028.

The youngster's camp has reportedly held talks with Mikel Arteta already, and he is valued at around £25.7m.
