Hearts vs Kilmarnock Team News & Injuries

Read all of the latest injury updates, Hearts vs Kilmarnock lineups and team news for Sunday’s Premiership contest below.

Hearts

Hearts opened the new league campaign with a confident 2-0 away win vs St Johnstone. The Jam Tarts had to show patience in that match but eventually, they turned their dominance into goals with 2 inside the final 15 minutes. New signing Oda netted the opener and the Japanese played very well.

On Thursday Hearts lost 1-2 away vs Rosenborg in a Europa League qualifier. However, the late goal scored by Shankland gives Hearts hope ahead of the return leg next week.

With that return leg in mind, Hearts might rotate their squad this Sunday. Grant, Tagawa and Boyce could start on the bench ahead of the return game vs Rosenborg. In any case, the manager is spoiled for choice as there are no serious injuries in the squad.

Predicted Lineup:

Clark (GK), Atkinson, Kent, Rowles, Kinglsey, Haring, Devlin, Oda, Nieuwenhof, Forrest & Shankland

Kilmarnock

Killi opened the new season with a great result. They edged giants Rangers 1-0 at home. Lyons scored midway through the second half but the big star of the show was goalkeeper Dennis. He showed cat-like reflexes numerous times in this match.

Kilmarnock are enjoying the new season so far. Before this famous win, they cruised into the next stage of the League Cup after 3 wins in 4 group-stage matches. Their only defeat in that competition was on penalties.

The gaffer hinted that he is likely to use a back 5 again. Killi have a few injured players but all of the regulars are fit and available.

Predicted Lineup:

Dennis (GK), Armstrong, Mayo, Deas, Findlay, Ndaba, Watson, Lyons, Magennis, Watkins & Kennedy

Starting Lineups

Official lineups are usually released approximately one hour before kick-off.

Player to Watch: Lawrence Shankland

Lawrence Shankland scored 3 goals in just the last 2 matches against Kilmarnock. Shankland had an amazing last season for Hearts with his 24 league goals. He showed hunger from the off this season too and already got on the scoresheet in round 1. He also scored a crucial away goal in Europe on Thursday to confirm his form is excellent right now.

We can see Shankland now eagerly looking for another goal or two in his first home outing of the new campaign.
