Authenticity (3.5/5): Reliable source on Bundesliga stars
Liverpool are considering a move for Borussia Dortmund's Jamie Gittens to strengthen the left side of their attack, but striking a deal could be tricky with the top three London clubs, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham, all interested in the 20-year-old Londoner.

Value (3/5): Reds have a bidding war to win
With eight goals this season already, four of which have come in the UEFA Champions League, Gittens' stock is continuing to rise, with Transfermarkt now valuing him at around £30 million.
The former Reading and Man City youth product has been tied down to a lengthy contract by Dortmund, who will relish a bidding war between English clubs, as they hope to get around £83 million (€100 million) for him.
Suitability (4/5): Wide man can operate on either side
Having played in a Champions League final as a teenager, Gittens clearly has what it takes to succeed at the elite level, even if he is yet to get a taste of Premier League football.
Predominately a left-winger, Gittens can also operate on the right side and will fit in well to an Arne Slot side that plays with wide men as part of a front three, or three in behind a centre-forward.
Upgrade? (2/5): Liverpool's left is unrivalled
In Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo, Liverpool have strength in depth on the left wing which is arguably unmatched anywhere in world football. Both are under 30 and under contract until at least 2027, it would be tough for Gittens to get minutes in his favoured position.
Mohamed Salah might be heading for pastures new, but a natural left-sider is surely not the right man to take the Egyptian's place?
Logic (2/5): Gittens not in a hurry
Playing excellently for Dortmund, Gittens does not appear under pressure to leave Germany any time soon, however, he does see himself in the Premier League long term.
If he were to move in the summer, then a switch back home to London might be more suitable, where he can challenge for game time at Arsenal, Chelsea or Tottenham more easily.
Whisper+ verdict: 14.5/25
Needing to pay such a high price for another left-winger, when right-winger is the position they have to get right, should surely be enough to put Liverpool off this deal and let their Premier League rivals thrash it out.
