Having spent more than £400m last summer, it seems crazy that Liverpool are in need of several reinforcements a year later.
Of all the blockbuster moves they made last year, only Hugo Ekitike can say he's had an acceptable debut season, with Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak both well below the levels expected of £120m+ players.
Unfortunately for Ekitike, he looks set to miss a considerable chunk of the 2026-27 campaign due to an Achilles injury, and his absence will leave the club light in the forward department.
Milos Kerkez, who was viewed as the perfect replacement for Andy Robertson, took far too long to settle into life at Anfield, while Jeremie Frimpong has struggled with injuries.
As ever, rumours around who could be next through the doors at Anfield continue to swirl. Let's take a look at the latest rumours, but don't forget to also check the already confirmed Liverpool signings.

Liverpool transfer targets summer 2026

Lamine Camara (Monaco)
Midfield will almost certainly be a priority area for the Reds hierarchy, and they have been linked to Monaco star Lamine Camara for some time.
The 22-year-old has a transfer value of £35m, but he is likely to cost significantly more than that in any switch to the Premier League.
Alex Scott (Bournemouth)
Alex Scott was arguably the best midfielder in the Premier League in 2026, and considering the Englishman worked under new Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola, he could be a good fit at Anfield.
It has been reported that Bournemouth would demand a fee in the region of £80m
Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace)
The exit of Trent Alexander-Arnold in the summer of 2025 robbed the club of a progressive passer, but luckily for them, Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton fits that bill.
Though Wharton does not possess the same physical qualities that Iraola normally looks for in his midfielders, the Basque man has indicated that he will adapt somewhat at Liverpool.
Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig)
With Mo Salah having left the club, Liverpool need a new superstar on the wing, and Yan Diomande fits the bill. If the Reds are set to secure his signature, they will have to beat PSG for his services.
Bradley Barcola (Paris Saint-Germain)
Paris Saint-Germain possess an abundance of attacking talent, so it is no indictment on Bradley Barcola that he is seen by Luis Enrique as fourth choice, but he is though to be frustrated by his role.
It would be remarkable if the Merseysiders somehow signed both Barcola and Diomande, but they did sign Isak and Wirtz in the same window, so nothing should be ruled out.
