With the 2026 World Cup now concluded, attention is quickly shifting back towards club football, with the new domestic season edging ever closer and the summer transfer window entering its crucial stages.

The market has already seen some eye-catching moves, with Elliot Anderson joining Manchester City for a British-record £116 million fee.

That record was short-lived, however, as Morgan Rogers surpassed it just weeks later by completing a £117 million switch to Chelsea just a few weeks later, highlighting the extraordinary levels of spending at the top end of the market.

But while the biggest clubs continue to spend huge sums on established stars, there are still plenty of players available for considerably less than their perceived value.

In this article, we take a look at five of the most undervalued players in the 2026 transfer window, including Mikey Moore and Rafael Leao, with all market values taken directly from Transfermarkt.

5) Rafael Leao – AC Milan (Market value: £50m)

Portuguese forward Rafael Leao continues to attract interest from clubs across Europe, with several sides reportedly monitoring his situation as the summer transfer window enters its final stages.

Despite the speculation surrounding his future, Leao remains an AC Milan player, with the new domestic season now less than two weeks away.

The 27-year-old came through the Sporting Lisbon academy before joining the Rossoneri in 2019, quickly establishing himself as one of Europe’s most exciting attacking talents.

His performances were rewarded with the 2021-22 Serie A Most Valuable Player award, although his goalscoring numbers have dipped in recent seasons, with Leao failing to reach 10 league goals in each of the last three campaigns.

Leao also featured for Portugal at the 2026 World Cup, scoring the final goal in their 5-0 group-stage victory over Uzbekistan.

According to Transfermarkt, Leao's market value has fallen by around £40m in recent seasons and currently stands at £50m.

With reported interest from a number of potential suitors and the new campaign just around the corner, his future remains one to watch.

Should Leao rediscover the form that previously made him one of Europe's most feared attackers, any club able to secure his signature could be getting a player worth considerably more than his current market valuation.

4) Nicolas Tagliafico – Lyon (Market value: £4m)

At 33 years of age, Nicolas Tagliafico is the oldest player on this list but still has plenty of experience to offer clubs looking for a reliable option at left-back.

The Argentine defender played the full 120 minutes of the recent World Cup final, where his nation suffered a defeat to Spain in extra time as they missed out on the chance to win football's biggest prize for the second consecutive tournament.

The former Ajax defender has spent the last four years at Lyon, making 103 Ligue 1 appearances and scoring seven goals during his time in France.

Premier League side Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in Tagliafico and, with a market value of just £4m, the experienced full-back could prove to be an excellent value signing both on and off the pitch.

3) Nestroy Irankunda – Watford (Market value: £10m)

Perhaps the least familiar name on this list, Nestroy Irankunda is a Tanzanian-born Australian international who currently plays for Watford.

Previously on the books at Bayern Munich, the winger has already made a significant impact at international level, scoring six goals in 19 appearances for the Socceroos, including Australia's opening goal of the 2026 World Cup against Turkey.

The forward joined Watford on a five-year contract just over a year ago and went on to score four goals during his first season in the Championship.

With his reputation continuing to grow, interest from clubs including Everton, Bayer Leverkusen and Sporting Lisbon is unsurprising, and his current £10m valuation could represent a major opportunity for potential suitors.

2) Felix Nmecha – Borussia Dortmund (Market value: £55m)

Felix Nmecha emerged as one of Germany's standout performers at the 2026 World Cup, scoring his country's first goal of the tournament despite what was ultimately a disappointing campaign for Julian Nagelsmann's side.

His displays in the United States have only increased interest in the Borussia Dortmund midfielder, with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United reportedly monitoring his situation.

Newcastle United are also believed to be preparing a bid for Nmecha, adding further intrigue to his future as the summer transfer window enters its final stages.

Born in Hamburg and developed through the Manchester City academy, Nmecha has gone on to earn 12 caps for Germany while making 75 league appearances for Dortmund over the last three seasons.

Transfermarkt currently values the 25-year-old at £55m, but that figure could rise considerably if the reported interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs develops into concrete offers.

With the new domestic season now less than two weeks away, Nmecha's future could be one to keep a close eye on.

1) Mikey Moore – Tottenham Hotspur (Market value: £18m)

Mikey Moore enjoyed a breakthrough season during his 2025-26 loan spell at Rangers, where the 18-year-old featured 47 times across all competitions, scoring seven goals and quickly becoming a fan favourite at Ibrox.

The winger has been linked with a potential return to Rangers this summer, while European clubs including Borussia Dortmund, PSV Eindhoven and FC Koln are also reportedly monitoring the English forward.

However, any serious interest from continental sides could end hopes of Moore returning to Scotland for another season.

The winner of the 2025-26 PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award may feel his future lies away from Tottenham if he does not feature prominently in Roberto De Zerbi's plans.

With his current market value standing at just £18m, Moore could represent a significant opportunity for clubs looking to secure one of Europe's most exciting young talents.
