FW Predictions for Derby vs West Ham

Derby County are flying high in League One and will fancy their chances of causing an upset in Monday night's FA Cup 4th Round tie against Premier League side West Ham. The Hammers are battling against relegation this season and while they won their last game against Everton, their form of late has been poor, to say the least.

Derby Double Chance

We're going against the odds and backing Derby County with a double chance bet as we can see the hosts coming away with at least a draw on Monday night, and possibly more. Derby won the last meeting between these two clubs 2-1 but it has been over a decade since the pair have gone head-to-head. The Rams have won each of their last six matches in all competitions while West Ham have lost three of their last six fixtures, so you can see why we think an upset could be on the cards.

Both Teams to Score

There is a good chance that we will be treated to goals at both ends of the pitch in this game as five of the last six encounters between the pair have ended the very same way. Each of Derby's last three outings have seen both teams score and the hosts have found the back of the net in each of their last six matches. Two of West Ham's last four away games have ended with both teams scoring and the Hammers have only failed to score in two of their last six fixtures.

How will the teams lineups for this FA Cup clash?

Derby

Derby were at home to fellow League One side Barnsley in the last round of the FA Cup. A penalty from Collins in first-half stoppage-time handed the hosts the lead at the break and further goals from Barkhuizen and Knight saw the Rams run out 3-0 winners in the end.

Meanwhile, James Chester is out with an injury, while Louie Sibley and Eiran Cashin are currently still questionable for the FA Cup duel.

Predicted lineup – Wildsmith (GK), Davies, Forsyth, Roberts, Smith, Hourihane, Barkhuizen, Bird, Knight, McGoldrick & Mendez-Laing

West Ham

West Ham defied the odds to beat Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium in the 3rd Round of the cup. The pair played out a tight and tense 90-minutes with a solitary goal from Benrahma in the 79th-minute proving enough to secure the Hammers safe passage into the next round.

The Hammers will have to manage without injured Danny Ings, Maxwel Cornet, and Gianluca Scamacca in this match.

Predicted lineup – Fabiański (GK), Ogbonna, Coufal, Zouma, Emerson, Aguerd, Rice, Paquetá, Antonio, Benrahma & Bowen

Player to Watch: David McGoldrick

Despite being 35-years-old, David McGoldrick is playing a big part in Derby County's push for promotion this season and we're backing the veteran forward to make an impact on this cup tie, even if it is from the bench.

McGoldrick top scores in the league for Derby this season with 9-goals, despite only starting in 12 of his 21 appearances for the club. The simple fact is, McGoldrick doesn't have the legs in him to play two games in a week and Derby have used his talents very well, avoiding the temptation to play the former Premier League striker in as many games as possible.

Despite playing for a number of clubs during his long career, McGoldrick has never played for a London club, sticking mostly to the midlands, the south coast as well as spells with both Sheffield clubs. McGoldrick still has that knack of popping up at the right time and in the right place and he will fancy his chances of scoring on Monday night against a leaky West Ham defence.
