The Under-17 World Cup is currently being held in Qatar and Chelsea have sent scouts to identify tomorrow's future gems. A player compared to legend Kaka has caught the Blues' eye: Felipe Morais.

Since Chelsea's takeover by BlueCo, the English club have invested heavily in youth. The Blues' squad has an average age of 23.2 years, by far the youngest in the Premier League, ahead of Sunderland (24.6). This is reflected in Estevao's rise, who moreover recently became the youngest scorer in Chelsea's Champions League history, at just 18 years and 181 days old.

Raheem Sterling is the only player aged 30 or over at Chelsea and the English winger does not even feature in Enzo Maresca's plans. This clearly demonstrates the policy implemented by the management. And evidently, the recent Club World Cup winners intend to secure more young prodigies. According to information from Chelsea Chronicle, scouts are impressed by Brazilian gem Felipe Morais.

Chelsea fall for the new Kaka

A 17-year-old attacking midfielder, Felipe Morais is currently playing with the Selecao at the Under-17 World Cup. Brazil must moreover face Paraguay this Friday in the round of 16. According to comments reported by journalist Graeme Bailey, Chelsea compare Felipe Morais to legend Kaka: “Felipe Morais is a Brazilian who is causing a sensation. An exceptional player, an outstanding technician. He has everything to please. He really stood out and attracted attention. He impressed Chelsea. He stood out. A scout told me he was a majestic player, the Kaka type.”

Felipe Morais belongs to Cruzeiro and plays with the Brazilian club's Under-20s. He has not yet signed his first professional contract but has already won over Chelsea's scouts. An attacking midfielder by training, he is also capable of playing on either flank. With his great technique and versatility, the English giants may have found the successor to the 2007 Ballon d'Or winner.
