Championship predictions

In England, the lion’s share of attention is on the Premier League, but the Championship is still one of the most-watched leagues in the world despite it being the second tier.

Championship

Whether it is the standard of football on show, the intrigue of who drops further from the top of the pyramid, or the excitement of the chase for promotion to the biggest league in the world, the Championship has it all.

In any case, we will look at this competition in more detail in this post, including some of the outright Championship predictions and betting tips, but if you want to check out our tips for other leagues, take a look at our daily betting tips page.

Most likely winners – The Hammers to get right back to the Premier League?

As expected, the bookies consider West Ham the most likely team to win the Championship, with the other two teams that were relegated from the Premier League last season, Wolves and Burnley, being the main favourites behind West Ham.

After the relegated trio, the other teams that bookie can see lifting the Championship trophy are Middlesbrough, Southampton, Norwich, and Birmingham.

Relegation candidates – Promoted teams favoured by the bookies

The promoted trio from the League One, which includes Lincoln City, Cardiff, and Bolton, are the main candidates to be relegated from the Championship this season.

In addition to them, the bookies also don’t trust a few other teams and see them getting involved in relegation battle, such as Charlton, Preston, Blackburn, and Portsmouth.

Top scorer favourites – Jarrod Bowen to lead the race

West Ham’s winger Jarrod Bowen is the main favourite to win the Championship Golden Boot, according to the bookies.

Raul Jimenez, Will Lankshear, Valentin Castellanos, Mohamed Toure, and Zan Vipotnik are behind Bowen as the main candidates to be the Championship top scorer.
