West Ham are interested in a Lille prospect and have made contact with his representatives to explore the possibility of a transfer.
Ngal’Ayel Mukau has undoubtedly been one of the standout revelations of Lille’s last season. The 20-year-old defensive midfielder, who joined last summer from Mechelen (Belgium) for €5 million, established himself as an important player under Bruno Genesio. He scored twice in the Champions League and provided one assist across 36 appearances.
His performances and potential have not gone unnoticed. According to Sacha Tavolieri, the Congolese international is on West Ham’s radar, with the Hammers showing genuine interest in signing him this summer. Mukau is on their shortlist.
Lille demand over €20 million for Mukau

The English club has already contacted Mukau’s representatives to discuss the terms of a possible move this summer. The player himself is open to leaving Lille just a year after his arrival but is aware that it won’t be easy to persuade the club.
Lille will be demanding, as they were in the cases of Bafodé Diakité and Lucas Chevalier—both sold for around €40 million each, excluding bonuses. These sales rank among the club’s top ten record transfers.
According to the same source, Lille will not be as demanding in Mukau’s case but will insist on a fee above €20 million (£17 million). This figure seems reasonable for a young player still under contract until June 2028 and valued at €15 million (£13 million) by Transfermarkt.
