The January 2026 transfer window may not have delivered a lot of chaos, particularly on deadline day, but it still produced a fascinating list of deals as Premier League teams flexed their financial muscle once again.
No other league across Europe spent more than the £400m that English clubs combined for.
Football Whispers takes a closer look at the ten biggest transfers of the winter window involving Premier League teams.
What were the biggest transfers of the January 2026 window?
Unsurprisingly, Manchester City topped the individual spending charts as Pep Guardiola's side sealed the most expensive deal of the window with the arrival of Antoine Semenyo from AFC Bournemouth for a whopping £64 million. That accounted for nearly one-fifth of the division's total spend.
The Cityzens also secured the £20 million capture of defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace, underlining their intention to try and catch league leaders Arsenal at the top of the table.

Palace themselves were also major players – their standout deal was a £43.5 million move for Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolverhampton Wanderers on deadline day. Oliver Glasner also snapped up another forward, signing Brennan Johnson from Tottenham Hotspur for £35 million earlier in the window.
West Ham United oversaw the biggest departure of the month after they sanctioned Lucas Paqueta's £35.8 million move to Brazilian giants Flamengo. The Hammers had signed Taty Castellanos from Lazio for £26.1 million a few weeks before.
Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur landed former Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher in a £34.7 million deal from LaLiga side Atletico Madrid, while Fulham invested £27 million in Man City youngster Oscar Bobb.
Bournemouth, who signed Rayan from Vasco de Gama for £24.7 million, and Aston Villa, who re-signed Tammy Abraham from Besiktas for £18.3 million, also showed some mid-season ambition.
