Whisper+ analysis
Authenticity (2.5/5): Reports from Italy but source unknown
Christian Pulisic's performances for Milan have enticed Man Utd to bring him back to the Premier League and bolster their attacking options under Ruben Amorim.
That is what is being reported by Italian site calciomercato.com, whose focus is transfer activity, yet they do not name the source of their information.
Value (3/5): Price only rising since Italian move
Pulisic's market value fell to €25 million in the latter stages of his time at Chelsea, the lowest it had been since he was a teenager, but his latest valuation is double that – €50 million – and that comes as no surprise, given that he has resurrected his career with 38 goal involvements in 65 Milan appearances.
No offer has been made, but United will be expected to at least meet that valuation to get the Milanese club interested.
Suitability (4.5/5): Versatile forward will boost United
Naturally a right-winger, “Captain America” has proven his worth over the years as an attacking midfielder, left-winger and in virtually every attacking and midfield role.
That, plus his Premier League experience and the fact he is still only 26, makes him a decent choice for the goal-shy Red Devils.
Upgrade? (4/5): Can provide United with cutting edge
Those goal-shy Red Devils have limited options on the right flank and have been linked with plenty of players to overtake Antony and Amad Diallo in the pecking order. Pulisic would walk into the side above that pair.
As for other attacking areas, Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho have their roles relatively sown up, thus Pulisic's versatility might not always be utilised.
Logic (2/5): Things going well in Italy
With seven goals and five assists in 15 appearances in all competitions this season, Pulisic is pivotal to the Rossoneri and seemingly loving life in Milan.
Would he give that up to go to basket-case Man Utd? With the 2026 World Cup in his homeland on the horizon, why would he do anything to jeopardise his stability right now, at Old Trafford or anywhere else in the Premier League?
Whisper+ verdict: 16.5/25
Bringing Pulisic to Old Trafford looks like a €50 million price worth paying for INEOS and Amorim, but with life in Italy going from strength-to-strength and regular UEFA Champions League football to play, there seems no benefit in a move away for Pulisic himself.
