Nottingham Forest are leading the race for Lyon midfielder Tyler Morton as they prepare for Elliott Anderson's expected departure this winter. The English club are ready to make a move for the 23-year-old, who has impressed since joining the French side this summer.

According to revelations from TEAMtalk, Nottingham Forest have made enquiries for Tyler Morton, as the English club expect to lose Elliott Anderson this winter. The 16th-placed Premier League side view the former Liverpool midfielder as the ideal replacement for their star player, who is attracting interest from Manchester United and Liverpool with offers reportedly reaching €100m (£85.4m).

Transferred to Lyon for €10m (£8.5m) (+ €5m/£4.3m in bonuses) during the summer transfer window from Liverpool, Tyler Morton has quickly established himself as one of the Rhone club's leaders. The English midfielder is assuredly one of the best signings in the French league and is actively contributing to Lyon's solid start to the season (sixth in Ligue 1 and first in the Europa League).

Six Premier League clubs interested in Tyler Morton

Elliott Anderson is one of the Premier League's great sensations. Manchester United and Liverpool are ready to make a €100m (£85.4m) offer to secure the gem's services. Nottingham Forest are planning to complete a historic sale but will nevertheless need to numerically replace the midfielder and the British outlet claim that Tyler Morton is clearly a target being considered.

Whilst Lyon are not thrilled at the idea of parting with Tyler Morton, the possibility of making a large profit, in order to ease finances, should make the directors think. Selling the English midfielder for twice the price could be enough to make Les Gones fold. Brighton and Crystal Palace are also interested. According to the same source, Tottenham, Newcastle and Everton are also interested in him but from further away. A Tyler Morton departure for €30m (£25.6m) would be detrimental on a sporting level, but ideal economically. It should be noted that Liverpool have retained 20 percent of the player's rights on his future sale
