Clermont vs Nice lineups and latest team news

Clermont

The Lancers finally achieved their first win of the season last weekend when in the clash between the bottom two clubs they edged Lyon 2-1 away from home.

In recent weeks things have improved and 4 points from their last 2 official matches in the league see Clermont no longer sit in last place.

The Lancers also won both league games vs Nice last season – 1-0 and 2-1 – to make it 3 consecutive victories in this fixture. This and the inspiring first win achieved last weekend should give Clermont extra confidence heading into the match.

Useful wing-back Borges remains suspended. Not many other serious problems though. Only fringe players Yoel and Bela are ruled out due to injuries.

Predicted Lineup – Diaw (GK), Pelmard, Ogier, Seidu, Konate, Keita, Gastien, Magnin, Allevinah, Boutobba & Cham

Nice

Nice remained just a point behind the leaders after a nice 1-0 home win vs Marseille. Once again the defensive actions impressed. Nice remain the only undefeated team in Ligue 1 (W5 D4). They are not top of the table because they don’t win enough matches though.

This is mainly because they don’t score enough goals. Nice also struggled to score against Clermont. Found the back of the net just once in the last 3 H2Hs.

Very close to full strength. Holding midfielder Diop is the only sidelined player. Several others are reported to nurse knocks and one or two have been ill this week. None ruled out of the game though.

Predicted Lineup – Bulka (GK), Lotomba, Todibo, Dante, Bard, Boudaoui, Ndayishimiye, Rosario, Thuram Moffi & Guessand

Player to Watch: Terem Moffi

Nice’s main threat is Nigerian striker Moffi. His speed and ability to change directions make him particularly dangerous in away matches and that’s why we think Moffi has a good chance to be a key player in the coming contest.

Moffi started the season well but he has cooled down significantly in October so the Nigerian will be keen to score at least one goal before the month is out.
