Manchester City now hold the outright record for the most Premier League titles in a row after lifting their fourth consecutive English top flight trophy back in May.
With City now taking top spot, here is a definitive ranking of the consecutive Premier League title winners.

Most Premier League titles in a row: Power Rankings
Manchester City – 4 (2021-24)
City now top the charts after winning their fourth consecutive Premier League title in May, beating second-placed Arsenal to the crown for a second season in a row. They accumulated 91 points, beating their previous total of 89, and secured 86 and 93 points respectively in the two campaigns prior.
This gives them a total of 359 points across the four seasons, at an average of just under 90 points per season. That's a very impressive feat, though a 90-point tally has offered no guarantees in more recent seasons.
Other PL title streaks
The Cityzens racked up a record 100 points in the 2017/18 season, and will forever be known as the “Centurions”, while following up with 98 the year after – though even that wasn't settled until the final day, with Liverpool pushing City all the way.

Manchester United – 3 (1999-01, 2007-09)
United previously held the record for the most Premier League titles in a row, recording three consecutive victories twice under Sir Alex Ferguson. The first came between 1999-01, where the Red Devils averaged just over 83 points per season.
The second was between 2007-09 and beat that by a significant margin, as United recorded 89, 87 and 90 points respectively in the late 2000s, thus taking just under 89 points per season.
Other PL title streaks
There are also two more instances of a successful United title defence. They recorded 84 and 92 points between 1993-94, and 82 and 75 points between 1996-97. Notably, 75 points remains the lowest total a team has won the Premier League with.

Chelsea – 2 (2004/05 & 2005/06)
With their successive mid-2000s titles under Jose Mourinho, Chelsea are the only other PL side to successfully defend a title.
The Blues accumulated 95 and 91 points respectively in 2005 and 2006, with the former being a record that lasted for 13 whole years until City's centurion campaign. Said record was aided by a tally of just 15 goals conceded in the whole PL season.

Arsenal, Blackburn, Leicester & Liverpool – 1
Arsenal have lifted the PL trophy on three occasions, but you'd have to go back to the 1930s to see the Gunners' last successful defence, with three straight titles between 1933 and 1935.
Yet, for all the greatness above them in this list, Arsenal are still the only team ever to go through an entire league season unbeaten, doing so as the “Invincibles” in 2004 with 90 points in total.
Arsenal's heroics two decades ago made them only the second PL team (after Man Utd's 91-point haul in 1999/2000) to reach the 90-point barrier in a 38-game season. Their other title triumphs under Arsene Wenger saw 78 and 87 points in 1998 and 2002 respectively.
That leaves a trio of one-time winners, namely Blackburn Rovers, Leicester City and Liverpool, accumulating 89, 81 and 99 points in their respective title-winning seasons.
Blackburn's haul had the benefit of four extra games, with 1994/95 being the final 42-game PL season before reverting to the current format. But nothing can detract from the drama at least, with the surreal sight of Blackburn celebrating mere moments after a late losing goal to Liverpool living long in the memory
Rovers also had good financial backing at the time, while Liverpool racked up 97 points in the season before their sole PL title win, lowering the sense of surprise when they finally ended a 30-year wait to bring the big one back to Merseyside.
This means that Leicester's title triumph arguably remains the most remarkable Premier League title win ever, famously coming after they began the 2015/16 season as 5000/1 outsiders.

Will City win a fifth straight title?: Our prediction
City are currently sat in second place in the Premier League table on 17 points from their opening seven games. They have scored a total of 17 goals so far this season – the most in the division – but have also conceded eight times and kept only one clean sheet.
In contrast, nearest title challengers from the past two seasons Arsenal have conceded two fewer and kept two more clean sheets, but are currently behind City in third place by the metric of goals scored. It is Liverpool who lead the way on 18 points, and while they have scored fewer goals than the latter two teams (13), they have only conceded a mere two goals from their opening seven matches.
City traditionally start seasons quite slowly by their standards, before going on an amazing winning streak in the latter stages of the campaign to claim their title. However, other circumstances will test their resolve this time, like the season-ending injury of arguably their most important player in Rodri, of whom they have a much better winning record with him in the team than without.
The potential punishment for their alleged 115 charges from the Premier League also looms, which could result in possible points deductions or even expulsion from the English top flight altogether. However, even if they are found not guilty and no punishment is given, we predict that City will not be able to make it five in a row.
We feel that it is finally Arsenal's time under Mikel Arteta, as they are level on points with City having had a tougher run of fixtures on paper and were one minute away from beating Pep Guardiola's side with 10 men at the Etihad Stadium – still coming away with a credible 2-2 draw. Nonetheless, City are a little too over-reliant on Erling Haaland's goalscoring (10) prowess at the moment, and injuries to key players like Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne may eventually come back to bite them in the long term.
