The record for the most headed goals in Premier League history is currently held by two players, but can anyone catch them?
With the English top flight underway for another new season, we have taken a look back through the archives to see who has scored the most goals from headers, and also noted any memorable ones from the era.
Also, feel free to check out who we feel are currently the top five best strikers in the Premier League right now…
Most headed goals in Premier League history: Power Rankings
1. Peter Crouch and Harry Kane – 40
Joint-top in the rankings are a former and current England international striker in Peter Crouch and Harry Kane. Crouch was known for his height and often used it to his advantage to leap over defenders and win headers, while Kane's longevity and consistency in front of goal means that it is not surprising to see him score so many headers.
One of Crouch's best headed goals was a tremendous leap against Arsenal in 2007, where he ended up scoring a hat-trick in a 4-1 win for Liverpool at Anfield. Kane also scored a couple of brilliant headers for Tottenham Hotspur against the Gunners, which ended in North London derby victories for Spurs.
2. Christian Benteke – 33
Current runner-up in this list is former Aston Villa, Liverpool and Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke, who was a real menace in his prime. One of the Belgian's best headed efforts was a towering header for Palace against Everton at Goodison Park in September 2016, where the ball looped into the top corner from quite a few yards out.
3. Olivier Giroud – 32
Just one headed goal behind Benteke is Olivier Giroud, who showed his aerial ability at both Arsenal and Chelsea.
His first top-flight goal for the Blues was actually a diving header against Southampton, and the Frenchman boasted incredible technical ability for a big centre-forward, notably scoring a scorpion kick for Arsenal against Crystal Palace on New Year's Day in 2017.
4. Michail Antonio and Romelu Lukaku – 25
Two strikers that are still currently playing in the Premier League are next on our list, although Lukaku is likely to leave Chelsea in what remains of this summer transfer window. Both are known for their physicality and bullying of their markers, but with both men now being the wrong side of 30, neither is likely to break the PL's headed goals record.
5. Andy Carroll – 24
Last but certainly not least on this list is Andy Carroll, who was also known for his incredible aerial ability. Playing for the likes of Newcastle United, Liverpool and West Ham United in the Premier League, he caused defenders plenty of problems.
However, the big Englishman also boasted acrobatic ability, as evident by the outstanding bicycle kick he scored for West Ham against Crystal Palace in 2017.
