Following several failures in the transfer market, Manchester United aspire to regain their former glory. The English club are even prepared to write off a €85m (£75m) investment.
After 10 matchdays played, Manchester United are eighth but just two points behind Manchester City, who are second in the Premier League. Whilst the title seems impossible with Arsenal‘s form, Champions League qualification is totally achievable for the Red Devils. That is moreover the objective set by the directors, who have invested massively in the transfer market.
However, Manchester United still have numerous cases to manage, particularly concerning loaned players (Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho). And precisely, according to information from talkSPORT, the Mancunian club are prepared to let Jadon Sancho leave for free next summer, despite having recruited him for €85m (£5m) and with his contract expiring in June 2026.

Manchester United want to forget Sancho failure
Manchester United have the option to activate a clause to extend his contract by an additional year but the Red Devils' desire is to cut their losses as soon as possible with the former Borussia Dortmund winger, even if it means giving up on recouping their initial outlay. Currently, Jadon Sancho is on loan at Aston Villa. A loan that is far from conclusive as the 25-year-old player has only played six matches since the start of the season, all competitions combined, for just two starts.
Jadon Sancho's salary is €15m (£12.5m) per year, one of the highest within the squad. Manchester United could extend the Englishman's contract in order to sell him immediately afterwards and recoup a sum of money from the €85m invested in 2021. But a sale is not guaranteed and, as the British outlet states, ManU's objective is to quickly turn the page on Jadon Sancho, one of the biggest flops in the English club's history.
