After an eventful summer transfer window, Manchester United succeeded in offloading several high earners from the squad. However, a few unwanted players still remain at the club.

As well as seeking to strengthen key areas, United also had a clear objective to reduce the size of their squad during the summer window. That mission was largely accomplished, with the departures of several attacking players including Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Antony and Rasmus Hojlund. Additionally, Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen saw their contracts come to an end.

The club has therefore managed to significantly reduce its wage bill, creating space for the next generation of Red Devils. However, not all fringe players were moved on. Goalkeeper Andre Onana could still leave on loan, while Tyrell Malacia may yet secure a move before the window closes in a few leagues.

Tyrell Malacia Could Still Leave Manchester United

According to ESPN’s Rob Dawson, Dutch full-back Tyrell Malacia—who turned down a late offer from Lille—has no future under manager Ruben Amorim. A loan move to Elche collapsed in the final hours of the window, but Manchester United still hope to sell the 26-year-old in the coming days.

The transfer window remains open in several countries, including Turkey and Saudi Arabia, which could provide United with a last opportunity to finalise a deal.

Signed from Feyenoord in 2022 for around £12.8m, Malacia is now valued at £6.8m, according to Transfermarkt. With just one year left on his contract, United will be keen to avoid losing the player for free next summer. The coming weeks will be crucial to resolving the situation.
