Looking for young gems who can embody the English club's future, Manchester United have sent scouts to monitor an Ecuadorian midfielder whose profile strongly recalls that of Moises Caicedo.
South America is a continent teeming with talented players, notably Ecuador. In recent years, several world-class players have emerged from this small country of 18 million inhabitants such as William Pacho, Piero Hincapie and also Moises Caicedo. And precisely, the Chelsea midfielder seems to have influenced the new generation as a talented 17-year-old player is following in his footsteps.
Ederson Castillo plays within Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito, who finished second in the Ecuadorian league, and according to information from outlet DeUnaSF, the young midfielder has caught Manchester United's eye. The local outlet add that Bayern Munich have also made enquiries, as have Atletico Madrid, but it is indeed the Red Devils who have demonstrated the most concrete interest.
💣🚨🚨NEW: Manchester United’s interest in 17-year-old Ecuadorian Ederson Castillo is growing more and more, though it remains unclear when the club will make an official move.

Manchester United have found their Moises Caicedo
This summer, Ederson Castillo completed a trial within Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht. Whilst he was not retained, the Belgian club continue to follow the young Ecuadorian prospect's progression, who has a playing style that resembles that of Moises Caicedo. In other words, a tireless midfielder, technically comfortable and who multiplies runs, whilst also being capable of projecting forward. A profile that would do the Manchester midfield a lot of good.
Logical that a player with such qualities interests Manchester United. The Ecuadorian outlet indicate however that for the moment, no offer is expected from the English directors. The Red Devils want to prepare for the future and that is why they are monitoring young talents everywhere in the world, such as Christ Inao Oulai who plays at Trabzonspor, presented as Yaya Toure's successor in Ivory Coast.
