Whisper+ analysis
Authenticity (3/5): United urged to sign Quenda
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has urged the Red Devils' hierarchy to make a move for Geovany Quenda, who enjoyed his first-team breakthrough under the ex-Sporting CP.
That is according to the Daily Star, who adds that Amorim has made it clear to United that Quenda has to be one of their leading targets.
Value (4/5): Quenda available for cheap
Quenda's Sporting contract includes a release clause worth £83million. However, it has been suggested that there's a deal to be done for a fee in the region of £35million – a pretty reasonable figure considering his immense potential.
Suitability (3.5/5): Exciting option on the right flank
Quenda is capable of playing as a right-winger and right-back, making him an ideal fit for Amorim's 3-4-3 formation that employs a right wing-back. His ability to make a difference at both ends of the pitch makes him a very appealing target for the United head coach.
Upgrade? (3.5/5): More suited than Diogo Dalot
Quenda's dribbling and creative instincts make him a more suited option for Amorim than his fellow countryman Diogo Dalot, who is a traditional full-back and isn't very influential in the final third.
Logic (4/5): Dream move
Quenda appears Amorim's dream target and the opportunity to join a club the size of Manchester United and reunite with his former boss should also tempt the young Portuguese.
Whisper+ verdict: 18/25
Amorim appears to be pushing for this signing and considering Sporting's reasonable demands, this should get over the line in the summer.
