Manchester United are reportedly stepping up their efforts to land a starlet who has long been on Paris Saint-Germain's radar.

Paris Saint-Germain are said to be targeting a midfielder in the next transfer window. According to PSG Inside Actus, the capital club have four names on their shortlist: Ayyoub Bouaddi, Manu Kone, Mateus Fernandes and Carlos Baleba. The two French midfielders are persistently linked with Paris in the rumour mill.

PSG step up their interest in Bouaddi

Bouaddi, who extended his contract with Lille last December until June 2029, has been attracting interest across Europe since the start of the season. Twelve heavyweights were reported to be battling it out for the France Under-21 international last October. Paris were among them, alongside Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Since then, the 18-year-old has kept his place in Bruno Genesio's starting line-up and is set to complete a second full season, having already racked up 39 appearances with Lille. As a result, he continues to attract admirers. According to information from Abdellah Boulma, Paris are making moves behind the scenes in the Bouaddi dossier.

Manchester United step up their pursuit

The European champions have reportedly made several enquiries and presented their project to the young Lille starlet. Talks are said to be ongoing between the two parties, although Olivier Letang will be demanding in this dossier. In this dossier, PSG are not alone. Indeed, the insider specialising in the European champions, who has 74,000 followers on X, indicates that Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Manchester United are also lurking.

The Red Devils have also reportedly stepped up their approaches and met with Bouaddi's entourage. The Premier League's third-placed side, who should return to the Champions League next season, are determined to bolster their midfield this summer. To convince the Frenchman not to join Paris and head to Old Trafford instead, Manchester are considering using ‘the support of Sir Alex Ferguson'.
