Disappointed by the performances of one of their summer transfer window recruits, Liverpool would be considering the recruitment of a new right-back.
With nearly £430m in spending last summer, Liverpool dominated the transfer market for a result that has so far been mixed. Whilst French striker Hugo Ekitike is standing out, German prodigy Florian Wirtz has disappointed despite an investment of €145m (£127m). Whilst the former Bayer Leverkusen player is generating much talk on the other side of the Channel, another new face at the Reds is struggling.
Liverpool: Frimpong replaced by Singo?
Also arriving from the German club during the last summer transfer window for a €40m (£34m) fee, Jeremie Frimpong is not establishing himself in Arne Slot's Reds squad. Currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, the Dutch right-back has only started one Premier League match since the beginning of the 2025-26 season. Blocked by Conor Bradley, the 24-year-old defender must make up for lost time but is it not already too late?

Under contract until June 2030, the Amsterdam native could see a right-back arrive quickly at Liverpool. According to information from German newspaper Bild, the Merseyside club have ticked the name of a former Ligue 1 player: Wilfried Singo. Having passed through AS Monaco between 2023 and 2025 before being sold by the Monegasques to Galatasaray for just over €30m (£25m), the 24-year-old Ivory Coast international has caught the eye of the reigning English champions.
Liverpool will need to pay €60m for Singo
It is said that Liverpool closely observed his performance during the recent clash between the English and Turks in the Champions League, on 30th September, concluded by a surprise victory for the Istanbul side (1-0). Starting that evening and remaining on the pitch until the end, Wilfried Singo visibly convinced the Reds to position themselves on his case ahead of the upcoming transfer windows.
Under contract until June 2030 with Galatasaray, the Grand-Berebi native is linked to a €60m (£51.2m) release clause which will probably not frighten Liverpool. For now, it is too early to say whether the English directors will take action. If the negative trend is confirmed for Jeremie Frimpong, Wilfried Singo will undoubtedly be among the solutions considered by Liverpool to replace him.
