Latest transfer news today: Man Utd eye familiar Andre Onana replacement as new Eberechi Eze twist emerges

Read the latest transfer news today as several Premier League players could make their moves before deadline day.

The new Premier League season is finally underway, with activity in the transfer market ramping up ahead of the fast-approaching deadline.

Manchester United kicked off their campaign with a decent performance against Arsenal, but a goalkeeping error prevented them from putting any points on the board. With that in mind, the Red Devils could now turn to a former employee for help.

In the other half of Manchester, Pep Guardiola’s City believe they have found the perfect replacement for Savinho, who is on the brink of joining a Premier League rival.

Here are your biggest headlines of the day…

According to latest reports, Manchester United are plotting a shock move for former goalkeeper and four-time ‘Player of the Year’, David De Gea.

The Spaniard was essentially pushed out of Old Trafford by former manager Erik ten Hag, who wanted to replace him with someone who presented better distribution skills.

Andre Onana was drafted in as a replacement, though the Cameroonian has failed to convince new boss Ruben Amorim following a series of blunders last season. The same goes for Altay Bayindir, who was arguably at fault for Arsenal’s winning goal last weekend.

With United desperately needing a goalkeeper, they are now exploring the option of bringing De Gea back to Old Trafford. The 34-year-old is currently at Fiorentina and is valued at around £4million.

Manchester City target Savinho replacement

With Savinho ready to swap the Etihad for North London, Manchester City believe they have found the ideal replacement – Real Madrid’s Rodrygo.

As things stand, Savinho remains with the Citizens after the club turned down an initial £60million bid from Tottenham. However, Spurs are expected to come back with a heftier cheque in the coming days.

At the same time, recent reports have linked City with a move for Rodrygo. Real Madrid are reportedly keen to sell the player and would demand somewhere in the region of £85million for the player.

City boss Guardiola is said to be a big admirer of the winger, and he has allegedly outlined his ideas to Rodrygo. The Brazilian has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time, and it appears the blue side of Manchester will be his next destination.

Latest twist in the Eberechi Eze transfer saga

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace prediction

Crystal Palace are actively searching for possible replacements for Eberechi Eze, who continues to be linked with a move to Tottenham.

Palace head coach Oliver Glasner recently revealed that Eze’s release clause has expired, putting the south London club in a strong negotiating position.

Despite already signing as many as seven players this summer, Spurs are said to be pushing for the transfer, which could be worth in the region of £55million. However, Palace are unlikely to make the deal happen unless they have a replacement lined up.

According to reports, Club Brugge forward Christos Tzolis and Leicester’s Bilal El Khannouss have both been outlined as main targets.

Tzolis is a Greek international who scored 20 goals in 55 games for Brugge last season, while Khannouss is a Moroccan international with two Premier League goals to his name.
