Authenticity (4/5): Telegraph confirm Kane's release clause
BILD made plenty of headlines earlier this week by revealing Harry Kane has a clause that would have allowed him to leave Bayern Munich for £67million this winter.
Now, the very reliable The Telegraph has also confirmed that the England captain does have a release clause and Premier League clubs are already aware of the same. Manchester United have previously shown interest in signing Kane.
Value (3.5/5): Best in the world for £54m
Kane didn't push for a move in January and now the clause will become active again next winter, with its value dropping to £54million. Kane's age might worry his suitors but the fact he has scored 26 goals and registered 10 assists this season for Bayern should still make him an appealing option for many clubs looking for a prolific striker.
Suitability (4.5/5): Elite presence
United should be at the front of the queue should Kane express his desire to leave the Bundesliga. The Red Devils have struggled in the final third under Ruben Amorim and Kane's killer finishing, as well as his elite link-up play, could prove to be a game-changer for the Portuguese gaffer.
Upgrade? (4.5/5): Difference maker
Both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have failed to score consistently. The arrival of Kane should push both on the bench. However, apart from his guaranteed influence on the pitch, he may also prove to be a positive addition for the young strikers, who would get plenty of time to learn from the best without any instant pressure to shoulder the goalscoring responsibility.
Logic (3.5/5): Unfinished business
The Englishman is understood to be happy in Germany but the desire to break Alan Shearer's Premier League record could convince him to push for a return to England. However, he is unlikely to leave Bayern without winning a major trophy. The Bavarians are six points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table this campaign.
Whisper+ verdict: 20/25
The idea of Kane playing for the Mancunians is certainly appealing and makes plenty of sense but so far neither party have shown a renewed interest in uniting at Old Trafford.
