The France Euro 2024 squad will head to Germany as one of the favourites to win the trophy, with a host of high-quality players set to miss out.
Despite being placed in the same group as the Netherlands in qualifying, the 2022 World Cup finalists had little trouble, winning seven of their eight matches to secure top spot in Group B.

Surprise inclusions in France Euro 2024 squad
N'Golo Kante
The big surprise in the 25-man squad named by Didier Deschamps is the inclusion of Saudi-based N’Golo Kante. The 33-year old missed the 2022 World Cup due to a hamstring injury and hasn’t featured for the national side since. However, the France boss has clearly decided his experience could come in handy this summer.
Bradley Barcola
The only uncapped player in the France Euro 2024 squad is Bradley Barcola. Admittedly, the PSG man’s inclusion was a bit more anticipated, given some eye-catching displays towards the end of the season for his club.
But on the flip side, Deschamps did have plenty of other options in the attacking areas, including Crystal Palace’s red-hot winger and Manchester United target 3, who was unfortunate to miss out.

In-form players for France
Eduardo Camavinga
This has the potential to be a breakthrough international tournament for Eduardo Camavinga, who has put in some classy displays for a dominant Real Madrid side that ultimately cruised to its 36th La Liga title. The 21-year old will face competition from clubmate Aurelien Tchouameni and Adrien Rabiot for a start in midfield for France, but he could be set for a big tournament.
Kylian Mbappe
One minor worry for Didier Deschamps may be the patchy form of some of his attackers. He’ll have no such worries about Kylian Mbappe though, with the 25 year old not letting the uncertainty over his future be a distraction during 2023/24.
As if his status as golden boot favourite needed any further support, he has netted 23 times already in 2024, also registering five assists.

France Predicted Euro 2024 XI
France vs Austria
(4-2-3-1) Maignan, Theo Hernandez, Saliba, Konate, Clauss, Rabiot, Tchouameni, Mbappe, Griezmann, Dembele, Giroud
Les Bleus may kick off their Group D campaign with a 4-2-3-1 system, with Antoine Griezmann operating in the most advanced midfield role and Kylian Mbappe slotting in on the left flank. Even at the age of 37, veteran striker Olivier Giroud is still expected to have a key role to play up top, as he looks to add to his 57 international goals.
France vs Netherlands
(4-3-3) Maignan, Theo Hernandez, Saliba, Konate, Kounde, Rabiot, Tchouameni, Camavinga, Mbappe, Giroud, Griezmann
France may have beaten the Netherlands twice in Euro 2024 qualifying, but there could still be a slightly conservative lineup compared to the one seen in the opening game. Jules Kounde could perhaps preferred at right back, while Eduardo Camavinga may come in for one of the more attacking players in a more orthodox 4-3-3.
France vs Poland
(4-2-3-1) Maignan, Theo Hernandez, Upamecano, Konate, Clauss, Camavinga, Tchouameni, Mbappe, Griezmann, Coman, Kolo Muani
It’s a repeat of Les Bleus' 2022 World Cup last 16 clash with Poland on matchday three, and some rotation is likely, regardless of whether qualification is secured or not. Being aged 37, Giroud may be due a rest by this point, and the likes of Kingsley Coman, Randal Kolo Muani and Dayot Upamecano could duly make their first starts.
