Crystal Palace vs Liverpool: Why to back Cody Gakpo to Assist at 10/3 in Premier League clash

Liverpool return to Premier League action on Sunday, when they travel to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace.

Andoni Iraola's Reds come into the clash on the back of two consecutive defeats, one in the Champions League against Fenerbahce and one in the Premier League against Arsenal.

Luckily for the visitors, Palace are 18th in the table with just seven points, and many of their supporters are fearful ahead of the weekend.

It should therefore come as no surprise to see that bet365 have priced a Liverpool win at 4/7 (1.57).

A victory for Iraola could be key for boosting confidence in the fanbase, especially as Sunday will be the team's final match before the November international break.

Liverpool have not been particularly creative this season, with the club having only scored 11 goals in nine Premier League games so far.

They failed to register a shot on target against Arsenal last weekend, though they did find the back of the net twice in their 3-2 loss against Fenerbahce on Wednesday.

Winger Cody Gakpo provided an assist for Liverpool's second goal in midweek, sending in a cross to Alexander Isak.

The forward only played 24 minutes in that Champions League game, and if he starts on the weekend, there could be value in backing Cody Gakpo to Assist at 10/3 (4.33).

Cody Gakpo's assist record assessed

Gakpo has already registered six assists for Liverpool this season, with four of those assists setting up Alexander Isak.

The winger has accumulated that total in 11 games for the Reds, starting nine times, and he is just one shy of the assist total that he racked up across the entirety of 2025-26.

In fact, Gakpo has already matched the number of assists he managed in 2024-25, as well as 2023-24.
