Racing Club de Strasbourg are experiencing an excellent start to the season. Chelsea are scrutinising the progression of a third Strasbourg player with a potential offensive ahead of the next summer transfer window.

After the first 8 matchdays of the championship played, Strasbourg are 3rd in Ligue 1, only two points behind Marseille, the leaders. Racing have just held PSG to a draw (3-3) at the Parc des Princes. The performance of Liam Rosenior's players was unanimously praised. Indeed, Chelsea sent scouts to monitor Guela Doue and Joaquin Panichelli.

But that is not all. The English club are aware that Strasbourg represent a superb option to strengthen, without going through arduous negotiations with other clubs. This is for example what happened with Emanuel Emegha, who will join the Blues at the end of the season. According to information from TBR Football, Chelsea are considering bringing back Diego Moreira.

Chelsea's special clause to bring back Diego Moreira

The British media add that Chelsea possess a buy-back clause, which was integrated into Diego Moreira's contract, at the time of his sale to Strasbourg. The Belgian had been recruited by the Blues in 2023. Capable of playing in any position on the left side, the 21-year-old player has a versatile profile, which could certainly please Enzo Maresca.

The amount of this famous clause has not been revealed, but Diego Moreira is valued at €18m (£15m) on the Transfermarkt website. His value risks climbing in the coming months, notably in the event of participation in the World Cup. Strasbourg's Belgium international (1 cap) could take a step forward in his career if Chelsea decide to bring him back.
