Chelsea are considering recruiting Djylian N'Guessan, AS Saint-Etienne's young striker.

Semi-finalist of the U-20 World Cup with Bernard Diomede's France team without finding the back of the net once, Djylian N'Guessan has not yet played a single minute with Saint-Etienne since the start of the 2025-26 season, notably due to a thigh injury that hampered his preparation. Now fit for service, the young striker should quickly play his first match. Before leaving the Greens?

Under contract until June 2027 with ASSE, the centre-forward aged only 17 cannot reach an agreement with his directors. A situation which, if it is confirmed in the coming months, will doubtless oblige AS Saint-Etienne to sell Djylian N'Guessan to the highest bidder next January or in summer 2026. Today linked to a market value of €2m (£1.7m) in sharp increase, the Saint-Etienne number 25 would leave for certain for a much more substantial amount.

ASSE transfer market: Chelsea targeting Djylian N'Guessan

It should be recalled that during the last summer transfer window, Saint-Etienne declined a €7,5m (£6.4m) offer transmitted by Paris FC. Behind the scenes, it is said that ASSE could demand around £8.5m. After the French promoted side, other more prestigious sides have decided to position themselves for Djylian N'Guessan, blocked by Belgian striker Lucas Stassin and whose playing time could be limited in the coming weeks.

According to information from L'Equipe relayed by specialist site Peuple Vert, an English championship heavyweight are interested in Djylian N'Guessan, namely Chelsea. It is explained that the Blues have displayed their interest in someone who is part of the list of 60 greatest world talents born in 2008 published by The Guardian. The London capital club are not the only suitor in the running since a Championship side (Watford) and two Serie A teams (Inter Milan, Udinese) also appreciate Djylian N'Guessan.
