Not completely satisfied with his squad, Xabi Alonso wants to recruit a midfielder. But a long-standing target is moving away from Real Madrid.

After strengthening their defensive sector this summer, Real Madrid would now like to address their midfield. Several players do not suit Xabi Alonso (Eduardo Camavinga, Dani Ceballos, Federico Valverde). The Spanish giants have numerous targets and there is clearly a possibility that Real Madrid will make a big transfer next summer with the acquisition of a midfield star.

Among the players coveted by Real Madrid in this sector, we find Moises Caicedo. The 24-year-old midfielder has established himself as one of the best performers in the Premier League. He is frequently linked with Spain but these rumours do not disturb the Ecuadorian, who is focused on his objectives with Chelsea. He has moreover recently declared his love for the London club during an interview with the Daily Mail.

Coveted by Real Madrid, Caicedo chooses Chelsea

“I waited for Chelsea to contact me. I want to stay here for a long time. I want to continue playing like this, but progress further. I want to win more trophies with this club,” assured the Blue. “I want to give everything to this club because they never doubted me. I chose Chelsea because they have ambitions. I want to win trophies, even more trophies with this club.”

A way to definitively bury the rumours of a departure for the former Brighton player. Recruited for €133m (£113.6m), making him the second most expensive signing in Chelsea's history, Moises Caicedo wants to make history at his club, having already won the Conference League and the Club World Cup. Under contract until June 2031 with the Blues, the Ecuador international (58 caps, three goals) closes the door on a Real Madrid transfer.
