Whisper+ analysis

Authenticity (3.5/5): Al-Nassr's interest has been widely reported

Cristiano Ronaldo is said to be pushing Al-Nassr to make a move for Casemiro. The pair shared the dressing room at Manchester United and Real Madrid. So far the Saudi Pro League outfit have struggled to lodge a formal bid but things may change now.

With Anderson Talisca set to join Fenerbahce and free up a foreign player spot at Al-Nassr, the Saudi giants could add the Brazilian midfielder to their ranks. Their interest has been widely reported, but this time it's the Manchester Evening News, who have put two and two together.

Value (3/5): Casemiro's wages seen as a hurdle

United are open to listening to offers for their veteran midfielder. As such, Al-Nassr may not have to make a mega bid to secure Casemiro's services. However, it is suggested that the 32-year-old's staggering £350,000-per-week wages could present a problem.

Suitability (3.5/5): Experience in abundance

Marcelo Brozovic is currently the most high-profile and experienced midfielder in Al-Nassr's ranks. The five-time Champions League winner would instantly add plenty of experience and steel to the side's midfield, which has often looked shaky in big games.

Upgrade? (4/5): Challenge for Al-Khaibari

Abdullah Al-Khaibari is currently the first-choice defensive midfielder under Stefano Pioli. Casemiro is likely to compete with the Saudi star for the starting spot. Considering his reputation and pedigree, expect him to start in the middle of the park from the get-go.

Logic (4/5): Time for a new adventure

Ruben Amorim has underlined that Casemiro is not part of his plans, having left the player as an unused substitute in six consecutive games. He has not played a single minute of football this year and it would therefore be best for him to explore Gulf football and its riches.

Whisper+ verdict: 18/25

Much has been made about Ronaldo's desire and now Talisca's exit, but Al-Nassr have not displayed immense determination to sign Casemiro at this present time. With little time left in the winter window, they need to act quickly if this is going to fly.
