Before the winter transfer window opens, West Ham have made a Ligue 1 centre-back their priority.
Arrived in July 2022 at Lille from Chaves for €2m (£1.7m), Alexsandro quickly established himself as a starter in the Dogues' central defence. The 26-year-old Brazilian is now even an essential part of Bruno Genesio's defensive system. He notably comes off a campaign with 47 matches.
West Ham want to recruit Alexsandro in winter transfer window
Thanks to his excellent performances and his leader status, Alexsandro even discovered during this year 2025 the Brazil national team (three caps). Currently injured with a thigh problem since mid-September, his return to competition is awaited with impatience. However, this does not prevent his name from circulating in transfer rumours.

Thus, according to ESPN Brasil, West Ham have made the Lille defender their priority target for the winter transfer window. The Hammers, who are in great difficulties at this start to the season with 19th place in the Premier League, wish to add a centre-back to their squad in January.
Alexsandro does not seem set to leave LOSC
Valued at €20m (£17m) by Transfermarkt, Alexsandro would reportedly be estimated at around €30m (£25m) by LOSC. The main interested party wants to make a leap forward in his career and is considering a departure from the northern club. However, he doubts that the next winter transfer window is the right moment to join the Premier League.
Indeed, the Dogues' defensive stalwart will fight upon his return from injury and during the second part of the season to be the fourth centre-back called by Carlo Ancelotti to play the World Cup at the end of the season. According to ESPN Brasil, Alexsandro is battling with Fabricio Bruno (Cruzeiro), Lucas Beraldo (PSG) and Leo Ortiz (Flamengo) for this final place, because Marquinhos (PSG), Gabriel (Arsenal) and Eder Militao (Real Madrid) are practically assured – barring mishap between now and then – of being called for the World Cup. A departure this winter therefore seems a risk-taking for the Brazilian.
