Watford vs Birmingham Prediction 1: Draw
Predicting the outcome of this game is a little bit difficult and we've ultimately settled on a draw outcome. Watford's recent form has been woeful with just one win in their last five games whilst they're winless in three. The big caveat to that form being that Chris Wilder has only been in charge of 20% of those games. As for Birmingham, they too have only won one of their last five games but do arrive here having taken four points from their last two games, which obviously gives them a boosted confidence. Like with Watford, there is a caveat, which is they've taken points off Rotherham and Wigan in those two recent games. Watford will be a different level of test but, all things considered, a share of the spoils isn't unlikely.
Watford vs Birmingham Prediction 2: Under 2.5 goals
The second of our football betting tips for this game comes from the total goals market. We are backing the action to fall short of the 2.5 goals cut off. Watford have seen four of their last five matches go under the 2.5 marker whilst each of Birmingham's last three games have gone south of the 2.5 cut off. Three of the last five head to head meetings between these two sides have also fallen short of the aforementioned 2.5 threshold.

So, that gives you some insight to how the different bookmakers see the action unfolding. How though do the Watford vs Birmingham odds translate into probability ahead of this game? Let's find out.
Watford odds: 7/8 (1.88) – 53%
Draw odds: 13/5 (3.60) – 28%
Birmingham odds: 13/4 (4.25) – 24%
Watford arrive in this game as the bookies odds on favourites to win the game. That is very much a price based on the potential of this Watford squad as opposed to what they've actually produced in recent times though and, as such, we don't believe a home win offers great value. Instead, the draw option appeals. As for the total goals market, the bookmakers have this one down as a low scoring affair. That's a view we do share!
Check out the predicted lineups ahead of Watford vs Birmingham
Watford
Watford lost last time out but Chris Wilder hasn't long been in the door. He won't go rocking the boat with mass changes to his lineup after just one game as he looks to find a core of a team. Expect a change or two but nothing more. Keinan Davis is one who could drop out of the XI.
Predicted lineup – Bachman, Hoedt, Cathcart, Porteous, Ngakia, Louza, Choudhury, Sema, Pedro, Sarr, Assombalonga
Birmingham
Birmingham are in a good moment right now having taken four points from a possible six; that is a big deal after four straight losses. With that positive return noted, an unchanged lineup is extremely likely for this game, which means we'll see a 3-4-1-2 lineup with Tahith Chong operating just off Lukas Jutkiewicz.
Predicted lineup – Ruddy, Dean, Long, Trusty, Colin, Chang, Bielik, Khadra, Hall, Chong, Jutkiewicz

Player to watch
Watford are likely to have most of the ball and territory in this game and, for us, that puts a bigger focus on the role of Birmingham forward Lukas Jutkiewicz. His ability to hold the ball up will be crucial to his team getting up the pitch whilst his link up play – in addition to his threat from set pieces – will be important to Brum creating chances of their own.
