The transfer window is well underway and despite the interruption of the World Cup, plenty of clubs have signed some high-profile players for big money already.
However, it is safe to say some of the fees paid are rather extortionate compared to the actual market values of those players.
In this article, we bring you the top five most overvalued players from this transfer window, including four from the Premier League!
Transfer window: Most overvalued players

5) Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig to Real Madrid) for £106.7m (Market value: £76.8m)

The most expensive non-Premier League signing of the window so far has been Real Madrid's capture of Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig for £106.7m.
The fee is around £30m over his market value, which implies that Real have overpaid for his services.
There is no doubt Diomande has potential, but still just a teenager, he is raw and relatively unproven at the highest level.
4) Goncalo Ramos – Paris Saint-Germain to AC Milan for £63.1m (Market value: £25.6m)
/https%3A%2F%2Fmedia.footballwhispers.com%2Fmain%2F2026%2F07%2FGoncalo-Ramos-PSG-1.jpg)
The only non-Premier League transfer on this list is Goncalo Ramos to AC Milan from Paris Saint-Germain for £63.1m.
That fee is around £37m above his market value, which suggests that Milan have overpaid.
Ramos never established himself as a starter at PSG as he was subbed on more times than he started in Ligue 1, while six goals in a division the Parisians largely dominate is nothing to shout about.
3) Morgan Rogers – Aston Villa to Chelsea for £117.7m (Market value: £76.8m)

Morgan Rogers is the most expensive signing of the window so far, joining Chelsea from Aston Villa for £117.7m.
Based on his market value, that is around a £41m overpay from the Blues, which could come back to hurt them.
Rogers is undoubtedly a good player, but for that kind of money, Chelsea would expect more than the 10 league goals he scored last season, while he did not rank highly among the Villa squad for pass success or crosses per game either.
2) Mateus Fernandes – West Ham United to Tottenham for £84.4m (Market value: £42.6m)

A second Tottenham transfer makes the list with the signing of Mateus Fernandes from West Ham United for £84.4m.
His market value suggests Spurs overpaid by about £42m, similar to Chelsea and Rogers.
Again, while Fernandes is undoubtedly a good player, he was part of a relegated side, and Tottenham would want more than just three league goals from midfield.
Elliot Anderson – Nottingham Forest to Manchester City for £115.1m (Market value: £64.0m)

Based on his market value and the fee paid for him, Elliot Anderson has been the biggest overpay of the window so far.
He joined Manchester City from Nottingham Forest for £115.1m, around £51m over his market value!
Anderson was undoubtedly Forest's standout performer last campaign, but he perhaps still needs to prove that he is not just a one-season wonder.
