Already the author of a complicated last season, Rodrygo sees his ordeal continue at Real Madrid, to the point that the Spanish club are reportedly considering selling him cheaply ahead of the summer 2026 transfer window.
One of the most unpredictable falls in recent months is that of Rodrygo. A major player in Real Madrid's recent successes, the Brazilian winger is only a shadow of himself. His last goal for the club dates back to 4th March, it was against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League round of 16. A drought of 28 matches. Since then, Rodrygo has been either neutral or very disappointing, which could force the Merengues to place him on the transfer list.
Despite this significant downgrading in the hierarchy established by Xabi Alonso, Rodrygo, who has only started three times this season, retains strong appeal among European clubs. But whilst Real Madrid were demanding around €100m (£85.5m) last summer, there is little chance now that the 24-year-old player will leave for that amount. According to information from outlet Defensa Central, the White House club would even be prepared to accept an offer of €50-55m (£42-47m) next summer.

Rodrygo, an inevitable departure next summer?
This sum barely corresponds to the investment deployed to recruit Rodrygo in 2019 (€45m/£38.5m). The Brazilian is for the moment still determined to establish himself with the Spanish club, he wants to regain his place. But Xabi Alonso prefers Vinicius Junior on the left side and Franco Mastantuono on the right. With the integration of Arda Guler at the heart of play, Rodrygo is therefore pushed onto the bench.
Deep in reflection about his future, Rodrygo risks being once again the attraction of the winter transfer window but his departure this winter seems quite unlikely. However, if the Brazilian does not regain his best form, a transfer next summer could materialise. It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid will really sell their player so cheaply because several English clubs remain on the lookout.
