Whisper+ analysis
Authenticity (3/5): TalkSPORT make major claim
Tottenham Hotspur believe they are in the pole position to sign Tyler Dibling, who is likely to leave Southampton once their relegation from the Premier League is sealed at the end of the season.
That is according to TalkSPORT, who add that a number of Premier League clubs have made enquiries for the 19-year-old winger.
Value (3.5/5): Levy expects reasonable fee
It is claimed that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy believes Southampton would find it difficult to stick to their valuation, in excess of £50million, as Dibling is out of contract in 2026 and at this point appears unlikely to pen a new deal.
Suitability (3.5/5): Direct runner
The England U21 international is known for his immense pace and aggressive style of play. He likes to take on his defenders relentlessly and isn't shy of making frequent runs without the ball to stretch defences. A good option for Spurs' high intensity football.
Upgrade? (3.5/5): Attacking depth
The English right-winger is unlikely to start ahead of Dejan Kulusevski, who is Ange Postecoglou's first-choice option on the right flank. However, Spurs have suffered greatly this term due to injury concerns, and signing a player like Dibling to strengthen their attacking depth should work for all parties involved. The youngster is also capable of playing through the middle.
Logic (4.5/5): Premier League stay
It is clear that Dibling is keen on continuing in the Premier League and at this point, the 20th-placed Southampton can't guarantee him that. Spurs could hand him a lifeline and give him an opportunity to refine his skills at the highest level.
Whisper+ verdict: 18/25
Southampton appear to have little power over Dibling's future and Spurs' hierarchy are confident of signing him. This should go far!
