Tottenham Hotspur attempted to pull off a surprise move in the final days of the transfer window, making a late bid to sign promising Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Senny Mayulu. The 19-year-old, who caught the eye with his breakthrough season at PSG, was the subject of an offer that was ultimately turned down by the French champions.

TEAMtalk reports that the North London side approached PSG in an attempt to lure the highly-rated youngster to the Premier League. However, despite their interest, the proposal was swiftly rejected.

Senny Mayulu seen as part of PSG’s future

Mayulu has emerged as one of PSG’s most exciting prospects and is considered a key figure in the club’s long-term plans, alongside Warren Zaire-Emery and Désiré Doue. Capable of playing in multiple roles across the midfield, the French youth international is highly valued by Luis Enrique.

The teenager already boasts a historic moment to his name, having scored in the Champions League final—becoming the third-youngest player to do so after Patrick Kluivert and Brian Kidd. He featured in 34 matches for PSG last season and is expected to see even more game time in 2025-26, particularly with Ousmane Dembele and Doue likely to be absent at times.

Tottenham and PSG set to meet in Champions League

Valued at €15m (£13m), Mayulu is widely regarded as one of the most promising midfielders of his generation. Tottenham, who were keen to add him to their ranks, will have another opportunity to watch him up close in November, when they face PSG in the Champions League group stage.
