Linked with FC Barcelona, Napoli and Tottenham, Leon Goretzka has already identified his absolute priority for the next transfer window.
At the end of December, Mundo Deportivo revealed that a Bayern Munich player was pushing for a move to FC Barcelona. That player is Leon Goretzka. The German midfielder is interested in a new adventure with Hansi Flick, having shone under his management at Bayern Munich.
Given the Blaugrana's financial difficulties, the fact that the German midfielder will be a free agent at the end of the season is a major asset. The 30-year-old reportedly has no intention of renewing his contract with Bayern Munich, having lost his importance under Vincent Kompany.
Leon Goretzka wants to join Barca
Leon Goretzka is therefore on Barca's radar, but not only theirs. Indeed, very recently, an English giant – Tottenham – have gained ground in this race. The Premier League side are even ready to sign the Germany international this winter to beat the competition, which also includes Napoli. The Italian club have reportedly already made an offer to the Bayern man.

In any case, according to Sport, Leon Goretzka is giving absolute priority to joining Barca on a free transfer next summer. He has therefore put other suitors on hold and first wants to know if the Catalan club will clearly position themselves to sign him before making a decision. As is often the case, FC Barcelona will not rush into anything.
A midfield departure required?
Indeed, their engine room is already well stocked with Eric Garcia, Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, Gavi, Dani Olmo, Marc Casado, Marc Bernal and Fermin Lopez. Furthermore, Barca have already planned to sign a centre-back, a left winger if Rashford does not stay, and a striker if Lewandowski leaves on a free next summer.
The signing of Leon Goretzka should therefore only happen if a midfielder departs next summer. Marc Casado, who was courted this summer and does not really feature in Hansi Flick's plans, looks like the ideal candidate to leave. The 22-year-old is valued at €22m (£19.3m) by Transfermarkt.
