Top 3: FM 24 Wonderkid goalkeepers that will save you for a decade

FM 24 Wonderkid goalkeepers – Top 3 overall

#3 – Alejandro Iturbe (Atlético Madrid)

Atlético boast a tradition of having fantastic goalkeepers. From Thibaut Courtois to Jan Oblak, it is fair to say that the Colchoneros have seldom had to worry too much in that department. Alejandro Iturbe is a pure product from their academy, and is likely to become the next goalkeeper for the Rojiblancos in the upcoming years. You will need around €20m to buy him from Atlético Madrid.

#2 – Dennis Seimen (VfB Stuttgart)

The future of the German national team is probably Dennis Seimen, and it is not a surprise to see him so high in this list. With the second-biggest potential rating in-game, the goalkeeper from Stuttgart will most likely become a wall in every save you might play. In order to purchase him, you will need to pay around €40m, way above his value of €16m. But for a keeper that will be your main man for more than a decade, it might be a good deal.

#1 – Bart Verbruggen (Brighton)

The Dutch goalkeeper was one of the big revelations of last season, while playing for Anderlecht in Belgium. He was the starter for Netherlands U21 side during this summer's European Championship.

His qualities are quite impressive considering he is still only 19 years old, and this was enough to convince Roberto De Zerbi. The Brighton coach asked his board to buy Verbruggen and he was transferred for €20m. In FM 24, he is the goalkeeper below 20 years old with the highest potential, but he also is one of the most expensive ones, with a value around €45m.

Football Whispers' recommendation – Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro (AZ)

I selected one goalkeeper that would be a good fit for any team battling from titles immediately but that still has a good potential. I wanted him to come from one of the best academies in the game, and I went to AZ Alkmaar. The latest winners from the UEFA Youth League have in Owusu-Oduro a fantastic gem.

In real life, the Dutch-Ghanaian goalkeeper is compared by the media to Edwin van der Sar, one of the greatest ever. His current level is already decent enough and he could develop into one of the most frightening goalkeepers for your opponents.

Other options

Here are some other names that we suggest as potential wonderkids for your saves:

  • Daniil Khudyakov (Lokomotiv Moscow)
  • Diego Callai (Sporting CP)
  • Guillaume Restes (Toulouse FC)
  • Tommy Setford (Ajax)
  • Gabriel Slonina (Chelsea)
  • James Trafford (Burnley)

FM 24 Wonderkid goalkeepers – Best budget signings

For those of you that are planning to play with a modest team, there are still a few options amongst the top young prospects for the goalkeeper position. Here are our top 3 best budget goalkeepers under 20 years old with great potential.

#3 – Ferran Quetglas (Real Madrid)

GEM ALERT! The young goalkeeper from Real Madrid has one of the biggest potential for a GK aged 20 or below, and could be one of the cheapest wonderkids in the game. Arguably, you could have him join your team for under €250k. This is a very low fee for a player that will most likely develop into one of the best Spanish goalkeepers after a few seasons. He is definitely one of those players that can change the history of a modest club, bringing a record fee just a couple of ‘years' into the save.

#2 – Bartosz Zelazowski (OGC Nice)

OGC Nice's main keeper is Marcin Bulka, but the other Polish goalkeeper they have is a fantastic gem. Only 18 years old, Zelazowski is one of these goalkeepers than could improve dramatically throughout a save if you handle his playtime, loans and integration in the first team perfectly. With a price tag below €3m, this could be a good deal for typically mid-table clubs.

#1 – Diogo Pinto (Sporting CP)

Sporting has two stoppers with the biggest potential in the game, namely Diego Callai and Diogo Pinto, but the latter is a particular person of interest. Even though he is underdeveloped at the beginning of your save, his potential is quite similar to some of the best on the position.

The interesting part is that it will cost you less than €3m to purchase him. Do not expect him to be a fantastic starter right away, but give him time and he will become your first name on your XI game in game out.

Football Whispers' recommendation

I found a hidden gem thanks to FM Genie Scout. A 17-year-old goalkeeper that is free at the beginning of your save. Nathaniel Nwosu plays for Water F.C. in Nigeria and has a potential close to some of the best European young goalkeepers such as André Gomes from Benfica or Emir Yasar from Besiktas.

He already is quite decent and could be a massive buy for any team – even those with a restricted budget!

Other budget options

On top of the above Top 3, these are other names that we suggest as potential cheap wonderkids for your saves:

  • Philippe Gabriel (Vasco da Gama)
  • Dani Martin (R. Majadahonda)
  • Josh Clarke (Celtic)
  • Jorge (Real Madrid)
