Liverpool are keen to sign a new number nine this summer, and their priority target is understood to be Newcastle United's Alexander Isak. However, they have been told the Swede is not for sale in this window.

Napoli find Nunez alternative
Liverpool's search for a new striker is motivated by their desire to offload Darwin Nunez. Napoli initially showed a serious interest in the Uruguayan but, as per Fabrizio Romano, the Serie A side have informed the Reds that their pursuit can be considered over.
Instead, Napoli are set to sign Lorenzo Lucca from Udinese. The verbal agreement between the two clubs is already in place over an initial loan deal worth £7.8million plus an obligation to buy for £22.5million. Earlier this week, Romano reported that Brentford are considering Omari Hutchinson as Bryan Mbeumo's potential replacement.
