Spain and Colombia are set to go head to head on Friday, 22 March in a match at the London Stadium. Neither side will exactly be used to the stadium, however, several members of the Spanish squad play their football in England so should feel more comfortable at West Ham's home ground than their opponents. The Spain vs Colombia odds indicate that Spain are the favourites here despite Colombia's two-year unbeaten run. Luis de la Fuente has had a brilliant start to life as Spain manager since taking over from Luis Enrique in 2022 and led the team to Nations League glory last summer. They will need to be at their best to overcome Colombia but their midfield strength should see them through.

Colombia shouldn't be ruled out, particularly when you consider the attacking players they have within their squad. Luis Diaz is an electrifying winger who has scored 11 goals and provided three assists for Liverpool this season while James Rodriguez is still pulling the strings in midfield. Defensively, however,  they are susceptible which is why we are leaning towards Spain here.

As part of our free betting tips for Spain vs Colombia, we recommend that check out the following markets. Over 2.5 goals is priced at 10/11 (1.91) while Luis Diaz to score first is priced at 11/1 (12.0). You can find more first goalscorer tips via our betting insights section.

Last five H2Hs: Advantage Spain

Since the turn of the century, Spain and Colombia have only met on two occasions. In 2011, Spain won 1-0 thanks to a late goal from David Silva while in 2017, the two teams played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in Murcia. The home side needed a late goal from Alvaro Morata to rescue the match despite taking the lead through David Silva early on.

Colombia preview: Preparing for the Copa America

Colombia are arguably the most in-form team in South America at present which bodes well ahead of the Copa America this summer. They are unfortunately without Yerry Mina and Davinson Sanchez for this one which leaves two holes at the back while Juan Cuadrado is also out injured.

Predicted lineup: Ospina (GK), Munoz, Lucumi, Mojica, Arias, Castano, Carrascal, Quintero, Rodriguez, Diaz, Borre

Player to watch: Alvaro Morata

Alvaro Morata

Alvaro Morata is on course for the best goalscoring season of his career at club level with Atletico Madrid. The 31-year-old has scored 19 goals in all competitions and is just one short of his previous best of 20.

Can Morata lead Spain to Euros glory?

Morata has often been accused of lacking the cutting edge required to be the main man for club and country but he is dispelling that theory this season. This summer could represent his final chance of winning a major championship with his country so should be more fired up than ever.
